I treated myself and bought a Switch 2 before the price spike. Donkey Kong Bananza is a whole lot of fun! It's kinda like Steam World Dig, but without the crafting and waaay more bananas.

I think my adventure through Dark Souls is temporarily on hold cos I'm honestly furious at losing like 90k souls while doing stuff I thought was automatic and easy, to the point where I didn't need to bank my earnings. I have actually gone hollow giggle those three witches were right. I got fairly high level then encountered a staff that wanted me to have 50 INT so I was scraping around for fairly large sums of souls and ugh I am done I will never get to see that dragon bridge area this playthrough, gonna play very gentle casual games for a while instead. sorry I didn't respond to anyone about it, I am terrible I know. but I was immersed and appreciating all the weird insane stuff in the first two games and didn't really wanna hear that Elden Ring was better x3

At the risk of it just being my skewed perspective, in the grand scheme of card prices 10-15 USD doesn't seem particularly egregious, and if you're in Europe its less than a tenner.

Losing a large sum of Souls is a rite of passage. The worst is dying just before you are about to grab them on your run back.

Hopefully you'll get back to it sometime in the near future. DS2 is a great game, and has (in my opinion) some great replayability.

MY son really likes DS but old man can only handle elden ring and i dont think i beat all the DLC i think the last boss i killed was the ram guy and i cheesed him. Been random hooked back on AoE2 which ive played maybe 80 hours of in the last 2-3 weeks online still fun still lots of players on DE

Generally speaking, the Dark Souls games are a bit easier than Elden Ring. The overall pace is a bit more methodical and slower (not that it can't be a challenge of course).

I'd say the biggest stumbling point if you have Elden Ring experience would be that the DS games are not really open world. You have options of where you want to go and the order you want to tackle things of course, but it's far more limited so if you get "stuck" in the few paths available you can't really just wander off and explore a bunch elsewhere.

More on topic for lack of a better mono-green commander I ive thought of making bear typal does look fun and cute. We are also at a point with changelings and pick your own creature type to boost cards I feel like most typal decks can get off the ground if it has a decent amount of creatures.

I know I should bite the bullet but my normal limit for a card is £5, so if I own cards more expensive than that then I opened them or traded for them back inna day. eg. the Gnawbone in here which is the main reason I wanna make it, or something like it (does anyone else plan their stuff this way?)

She's just a janitor. It started as an alternative to Hippo politics, because those are exhausting, with Thrasios and Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker. Once upon a time, back in the 20th Century, I was a big fan of comics. I spent a LOT of my pocket money on comic books. I have a really strong attachment to Captain America (and also Batman, but he's DC and not relevant to my point at the moment), but I'll never build around him as a commander because I'm just so sick of it all. The longer Disney continues to flog the Marvel properties, the more I dislike Disney. This goes into so much of what I hate about mass commodification of anything that resonates with more than a handful of people. I wish I could still be angry about it, but it's not worth the time.

Point is, my distaste for Universes Beyond is pure. It's emblematic of everything that Hasbro has done wrong (and will do wrong) since acquiring WotC. I'll spare y'all the polemic since it'd mostly be preaching to the choir, but I don't think it's going to get much better than it is now.

I keep playing this game because it's connected me to so many wonderful people over the years, that I'm not about to let that go away. I've been playing Magic since so damned close to the beginning relative to now that I refuse to move on because it's MY game, too. I'm going to talk %$#% about WotC and Hasbro because they're doing horrible things to the property, but at the same time I love playing this game and I'm going to engage with it on my terms. I'm hoping that at some point down the road, MtG will meet the same fate as Netrunner (another great game from the mind of Richard Garfield) did. It's a serious long shot, but I remain hopeful.

Until then, hooray for the best constructed format going!

Funny coincidence that happened at my Friday night prerelease: I was chatting with a buddy of mine, Nathan, and asked him if there were any commanders he was potentially interested in from the set, and he says he's looking at the 2-mana Loki, Loki Laufeyson, a deck that I'd just started building.

That's already a pretty wild coincidence considering there are 362 commanders in this set, but what really makes it incredible is that this version of Loki is currently sitting at a whopping nine decks on EDHrec, 73rd place for the main set and 155th place overall--which is slightly above average, but keep in mind this is a set with a truckload of garbage commanders, including a bunch of vanilla and french-vanillas in the starter decks. Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk has over 2K decks compared to Loki's 9. He's currently ranking below absolute trash like U.S.Agent, John Walker and Invisible Woman, Sue Storm, and less than half of Bullseye, Death Dealer . And that same guy is both of our top pick? That's some crazy odds.

Ballparking it, I think there's around 30K decks built thus far from MSH + MSC on EDHrec. So that puts the odds at 1 in 3,333.
