i would be on your guard on Deadly Cover-Up
because its missing "other than a basic land" in the text
either thats not what the english version said or if correct likely a Day 1 Erata because of "Oops we forgot the "other than a basic land" text on it"
and Karlov Watchdog may actually be usable in Rin and Seri, Inseparable for that second ability and for bonus it plays Grand Abolisher against morph/face down matters decks
Urgent Necropsy that might be the first card i've seen in a long time thats not made for commander. and clearly thats due to the average cmc need is easily around 10-20 mana value worth of stuff in the graveyard for all 4 options targeting the correct stuff. in other words i will just stick with Casualties of War .

Yeah, I think Necropsy is a miss for me. It's possible that it would be good in Tasigur, but I feel like I'll be unable to cast it consistently in the early / midgame when my opponents start playing stuff I want to remove. Seem great in the lategame, but I don't need more lategame. It gets better if you're aggressively milling yourself though.CommanderMaster999 wrote: ↑4 months agoUrgent Necropsy that might be the first card i've seen in a long time thats not made for commander. and clearly thats due to the average cmc need is easily around 10-20 mana value worth of stuff in the graveyard for all 4 options targeting the correct stuff. in other words i will just stick with Casualties of War .
Forensic Team Toolsmith is interesting. I've tested Vedalken Archmage in the past (in Sharuum), but it felt a bit too vulnerable. Going up to a 2/3 for 3 is a nice upgrade, as is the discount on other activated abilities... not that I have many. Generating clues vs immediate card draw is probably a slight downgrade, but I do have plenty of artifact synergies that appreciate extra artifact tokens.

Conspiracy Unraveler reads "exile 1, maybe 2 cards from your graveyard instead of paying a cards mana cost" in my high CMC deck. XD

I feel like Conspiracy Unraveler is just more Hermit Druid nonsense. Mill thineself, Dread Return, then spam whatever. Not my bag, but it's neat.

Some of these disguise cards are absolutely BRUTALLY costed.
Alley Assailant
3/3 for 3 normally that enters tapped.
to turn face up and drain an opponent for 3.
How is this worth paying ?

@yeti1069 obviously a limited card. That is a very high flip cost, but a 3/3 for 3 is a decent rate (below rate with the etbt though). I'd expect it's like 85% play him face up, and occasionally face down if you're flooded.
But yeah probably like a d-tier playable.
Worth remembering there will be synergies around face-down creatures that could incentivise running otherwise junky cards like this one.

Conspiracy Unraveler looks cool, and I'm sure there are some crazy things to do with it. But I do think the collect evidence 10 is a pretty balanced cost to keep it from breaking games on accident. Which is a good spot for a bit 7mv flying mythic creature. Powerful ability that can build around for some splashy plays. I think if I'm doing aggressive milling with Hermit Druid, this guy is probably a lot more fair than a list of other things you could do. So I wouldn't get too salty about it.
But even for reanimator decks that can dump high costing things in the GY, I don't see the payoff as worth it. I almost think this is better used to cheat mana on something like an Enter the Infinite or Omniscience after doing a bunch of cantripping. I'm not sure what deck would rather play a 7 mana 6/6 creature rather than just ritual out the big spell with more spells. But the payoff for doing reanimator thing seems less compelling than the payoff for doing the big spell thing. Spells are much harder to cheat mana on than creatures.

I'm really looking forward to Aftermath Analyst. Splendid Reclamation and World Shaper redundancy is always more than welcome.
I especially like it because it's an Elf and therefore can be found with Nissa, Resurgent Animist. Will run the new card as my only other Elf so I will find it more consistently.

Leyline of the Guildpact
OOOOH MY GOODNESS!!!
first off this is the hybrid cost teaser it's basically but it incorporates in to one of each green symbol
It turns every creature you own into a Transguild Courier and it's yet another Prismatic Omen Effect
So why don't I leave these here. (Some do whatever from the leyline alone just for examples)
Scion of Draco — all abilites for all creatures…. Oh and itself
Bloom Tender or/and Faeburrow Elder — does it by itself (aware the leyline does it just wanted to say this for the fun of it.)
Knight of New Alara or/and Jared Carthalion — +5/+5 all/any creature
Chromatic Orrery or/and Soul of Ravnica — draw 5
Sisay, Weatherlight Captain + one legend — you already at 7 mana value cards to cheat out
Defiler of Souls — no sacing
Iridian Maelstrom — is now In Garruk's Wake
Conspire/convoke — they all can tap for the correct color

portal manipulator that should have been what Portal Mage should have said on its card all along nice to finally have a real one this time.
yea but Hushbringer , Torpor Orb, Tocatli Honor Guard, Hushwing Gryff and the bottom ability of Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines already do that though.NZB2323 wrote: ↑4 months agoDoorkeeper Thrull as an answer to Dockside Extortionist, Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, Yarok, the Desecrated, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Craterhoof Behemoth, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Thassa's Oracle.

Well, I don't particular care for the theme, and I actively dislike morph/disguise, but I LOVE more hybrid cards, so at least I'm getting something.

It looks like they got around this by making Secret Passage a card, which is a pretty clean work-around.Dunadain wrote: ↑5 months agoAlso, we will presumably be getting a card like Dining Room for each room in clue, but that's only 9 cards, so what unlucky guild gets left out?

Its the Gavin teasers
but he made a huge catch two of the teasers are fake
Bant: a Angel with Black wings holding some gold
Dimir: A Zombie Detective trying to solve its own murder
Naya: A Giant White bear named Descana....That right its a legendary
Boros: a 2.0 of........Feather
but he made a huge catch two of the teasers are fake
- There's a a New card with the Clash mechanic
- There's One Commander that cares about Base power and toughness 2/2
- There's a New Azra in the Set
- There's One new card appears in all four decks
- There's An Enchantment that begins with "Creatures you control get +X/+x until end of turn where X is..."
- There's a Black card in a many year supercycle
- There's a card that gives Clues a Keyword ability
- There's a New card with the Radiance Mechanic
- There's a color shifted version of a well known Morph card
- There's a card that makes all Facedown creatures enter with a Specific Keyword counter
- There's a Card that saids "If a opponent would begin a extra turn..."
- There's a New card with the Gravestorm mechanic.
- There's a card that check the condition if two or more players have lost the game
- Theres a creature with an unusual power and toughness the numbers are the two lies in this list the lower one is the power.
Bant: a Angel with Black wings holding some gold
Dimir: A Zombie Detective trying to solve its own murder
Naya: A Giant White bear named Descana....That right its a legendary
Boros: a 2.0 of........Feather
More stuff!
- The Case of the Gateway Express looks nice for Brago - there aren't that many cards in WU that can kill a creature on ETB, and certainly none that only cost two mana. It is very conditional though, so may be a bit too win-more. The anthem effect is also nice and seems easy to reach, so I could see it as a role player in go-wide decks (or decks with deathtouch).
- Cryptic Coat is another amazing Brago card. Cloudform and Lightform are two of my favorite cards in the deck, and this is an upgrade in pretty much every way. Ward 2, an equipment instead of an aura (so it doesn't die to a board wipe), can be thrown on Brago for extra evasion, can be bounced back to hand for value... lots of great stuff.
- Living Conundrum is not Thassa's Oracle, but I'm tempted to throw it and Laboratory Maniac in my cube as self-mill win conditions.
- Outrageous Robbery is alright - the fact that you can play lands with it (unlike many of these effects) makes it feel a lot better. I wouldn't play it over Pull from Tomorrow, but seems okay in non-blue decks or decks with theft synergies.
- Doorkeeper Thrull does look like the new best Torpor Orb effect - two mana, flash, and also shuts down artifacts.
- Torch the Witness might be going in my cube. 'Twice X' damage makes it scale much better than other Fireball effects, and the potential clue feeds into some synergies. I don't think it beats Shatterskull Smashing // Shatterskull, the Hammer Pass in optimized lists, but I like it more than Purphoros's Intervention and Stonesplitter Bolt.
- Case of the Forsaken Feast is interesting. Not as efficient as Soul Warden, but the potential to cash it in for recursion in the lategame seems good. There are plenty of creatures that can recur a 1-mana enchantment for looping purposes.
- Sludge Titan looks like a downgrade from Grave Titan / Primeval Titan, but could be worth consideration in self-mill strategies. You can get both a land and a creature, which is a lot of card advantage.
- Carnage Interpreter is a 5/5 menace for 3 that investigates four times on ETB. That seems.... extremely pushed, even if you do need to discard your hand.
- Conclave Evangelist can do some dumb things, assuming any of the tokens can connect.
- Suppressor Skyguard is an interesting pillowfort option - if your opponent doesn't have enough attackers, then they can't damage you at all. Most Ghostly Prison effects are strong against go-wide strategies and weak against go-tall, so interesting to see the inverse.

so the English version of Deadly Cover-Up doesn't say non-land either,so day errata maybe?
EDIT: Also requires five mana and there to already be a basic..so may the odds be in your favor if that's your aim with it.

Everybody calm down. We got a secret dredge card: Amzu, Swarm's Hunger.
In related Clue news, how playable will Emissary Green be? As a commander I can't imagine opponents are going to let you attack with it more than once. I could be wrong.

In monogreen, the haste options are somewhat limited, and the ramp from the treasures is a lot less necessary. I could easily see you attacking with this and me giving you treasures because you already have 9 lands in play, so what's a bit more Mana?kirkusjones wrote: ↑4 months agoIn related Clue news, how playable will Emissary Green be? I'm more interested in it as a 99 card in a deck like Halana and Alena, Partners, since it curves nicely, the commander gives Emissary Green haste and a buff to help attack in, and while most opponents will be hesitant to give you treasures, that might actually be the better option when the alternative is putting more counters on my commander. Either way, Green is a strong card, especially by punisher/voting standards.
