I always balk at the "sac the equipped creature when this is removed " equipment. I really don't like getting 2-for-1ed, and this costs a lot of tempo too. So I'm not a big fan of this one personally.

It's got a tremendous over-under. On Ruric Thar, unanswered, you're basically locking people out of non-creatures. It can turn most generals into 2-turn clocks, and can one-shot people with stompy creatures. Hydra Omnivore definitely likes this.

But, it also opens you up for the ole 2-for-1. High risk, high reward.

Man, I miss when this card was the bee's knees to play. Kinda seems a bit bad in this era of fast optimization. But dang what a fun time.

Idk, even back when I first started playing commander this guy always looked weak to me. Nobody is going to give you anything worth getting. It's definitely cute vs fetchlands, and can do interesting things when playing cooperatively, but for that outrageous cost (when cheated out with his minion or not), there's really no way it's worth it.

Will usually just be a bolt. So will Athreos. One costs more than twice what the other does.

This is still one of my most favorite MTG cards from an art perspective. Sadly, a terrible card by itself but it captures the essence of Grixis so damn perfectly...

An interesting way to police mana rocks; I've seen Daretti Goblin Welder.deck go off with this.

Seems decent with Shattergang Brothers or Daretti, Scrap Savant. I have not played it yet but curious to see how it performs IRL.

Great if you have sacrifice outlets for artifacts (Ravager/Welder/Ironworks/etc.), otherwise too little impact it's better alternatives for temporary ramp.

I recall there being some hype for Treasure Nabber when it was first revealed, but I don't think I've ever seen someone actually run it. As a three mana creature, it is competing against stuff like Worn Powerstone and Commander's Sphere, so if you're not stealing multiple artifacts per turn with it, it will feel somewhat underwhelming and inconsistent. It gets more interesting if you have some way to sacrifice those artifacts for value, but your opponents can just... not tap their mana rocks unless they have to, in which case it is a punisher version Collector Ouphe.

Definitely an interesting card, particularly in the right deck, but I would stick to something a bit more consistent for most decks.

Has this card aged out? Originally printed in Avacyn Restored, it was a force back then. But this card is now 9 years old, and I find that I don't play it very often.

Since then, we've gotten (or resorted to) better tempo plays like Ephemerate, Momentary Blink, and locked ourselves into more value-oriented cards like Thassa, Deep-Dwelling and Teleportation Circle.

Is there still room for the value at the expense of tempo, or has the game moved on from that?

I still run Restoration Angel in my Chromium deck and it is still solid there. I think the Angel is less of a blink deck role player like Teleportation Circle and more of a goodstuff/value card. It's great in my Chromium deck because I have a lot of Swords of X and Y lying around there so the 3/4 flying body is great.

Also, still goes infinite with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker for what that's worth.
