Flare of Cultivation is an improved Cultivate - you can cast it for free by sacrificing a green creature. Seems playable, to say the least, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a cycle.

Oh gods no, we don't need another busted Eldrazi commander.

That sword though, damn. I like it. Sunforger decks gonna be insane.

If Sword of Wealth and Power is a real card, it looks pretty cool. The protections are highly relevant, having protections from all instant spot removal, sorcery spot removal, damage-based wipes, and others. Trying to determine how much the spell copy is worth, being a combat damage trigger to get a spell copy restricts it to post combat casting, which I think keeps it balanced.

new sword probably goes in Ebondeath, Dracolich. Maybe someday I'll be able to excusively run swords of X and Y.

I'd say not likely, since the cycle is completed, but that didn't stop Wotc from making another one so *shrugs*

(and tinybones is less salty since it doesn't exile cards from your library)

Well devoid is involved so it won't be as back breaking since i do morophon devoid eldrazi (which will now become this legend) i wouldn't worry i can practically predict most the reprints and not to many cards are too backbreaking (note there will be MH3 stuff in the deck those will be excluded)
Predictions
Show
Hide
Creatures/Eldrazi Noncreature Devoid cards Instant/sroceries Ramp Colorless Synergy Lands Potentail big hits other cards
Any of other Ulamogs, Kozileks, Emrakuls, (this Includes the 3.0 ones coming in MH3)

Contaminated Drink makes me wonder how I value rad counters. Self-mill is good, life loss is bad. Is the former worth the latter? It's essentially free bonus cards in Kess, so it seems like an upgrade over Pull from Tomorrow, but that deck also puts a fair amount of pressure on its life total. Probably worth testing just based on rate alone. Not sure how I feel about it in Tasigur / Sharuum though - they do have graveyard synergies, but random mill isn't as immediately valuable.
The rate alone makes it one of the better draw X spells in the game, especially as an instant. If you can use the self mill then it's genuinely crazy. I'm definitely going to try it out in Mirko, and I know people who are going to be trying it out in a variety of UBx decks. At X=2 it's drawing 2 cards and milling at least 1 for 4 mana and 1 life. At X=4 it's drawing 4 and self milling 2 for 2 life. The flexibility is unheard of at this cost and instant speed.

The main tricky part of evaluating this is whether the speed of the format has made these effects unplayable, And I think that is widely true at sorcery speed. We simply can't take a turn off to dump seven mana into refilling our hand these days. But in any deck that regularly keeps mana up, can use its graveyard as a resource, wants a grindier game, or some combination of those three? I think this is highly playable.

I still don't vibe with UB, but having real historical figures as my commander is oddly appealing.

All I am asking for is a fun RW Teddy Roosevelt card with Indestructible that encourages attacking.

But yeah, I will say that I agree with @RxPhantom in that outside of the Warhammer decks, which were some of the best designed precons of all time, I've been pretty meh on UB (though part of that might be that so far they've only done properties I either don't care about, don't like, or don't know). But getting actual historical figures as commanders is something that interests me.

I am curious to collect data on this in my future games, see how often my commander dies to which types of cards, but on paper it feels better than protection from colours, at least against removal. Though what I'd really want is protection against sacrifice

I want to be optimistic, but playing against Zhulodok is always miserable, at least in my experience, so I have little faith they won't make the new legend busted somehow.

As long as they are of the design copyrighted by Ubisoft  but seriously though, that could be a cool concept.

think I'm ignoring all the spoilers that aren't about cute badger people
ubisoft is such a major source of evil in video games that I honestly resent the crossover

edit: and seeing figures from history reinforces my No Humans approach to commander choice =P

Badgerfolk! Otterfolk! Cactusfolk! <3
Magic is at it's best, when it does its own thing flavourwise or adapts tropes and stories in it's own style. So UB feels just like ... meh. I'd rather have the Jacetus League back than another non-fitting UB. There! I said it!

I'd consider a Churchill deck.

Also, can we just get to Bloomburrow already? And Modern Horizons 3 being a sequel to Origins seems cool despite mixed feelings about Horizons sets.

I did quick scan of the Fallout card gallery now that it's completed, and there's like only 3 new cards that caught some of my attention (won't be crying if I didn't get them). Ain't doing a review for the set, Energy is still parasitic, I don't toy around with aura and/or equipment enough to bother with those in the set, radiation is on paper less parasitic than Energy, but at higher power levels its impact is so muted if you didn't really build around it, so I'm quite sure isolated radiation cards fare poorly in practice. There are zombies in the set but nothing grabbed my attention (heck The Flood of Mars is probably more interesting than all the zombies here).

The three new cards that caught some attention were

Powder Ganger - Squad works with Animar, and the political implications of targeted mass removal alongside producing many tokens instead of a battlecruiser does give this a nice angle and does grasp some interest.

Elder Owyn Lyons - Archaeomancer for artifacts sounds like its up in Yorion's Alley, the minor protection and death trigger is a nice bonus too.

Pip-Boy 3000 - Umezawa's Jitte #2 sounds like fun. The inability to hold on for later use even when unequipped and being unable to act as removal does make it the #2 copy (meaning I'd drop it before Jitte), but filtering is nice when Extus can work around discard, +1/+1 counter is 2 power on Extus, and untapped lands is nice in Mardu colors.

Three reprints also caught my attention (Ruinous Ultimatum, Mystic Forge and Tainted Isle), but I'm mostly waiting to see if the Collector Boosters do help in denting the price on top of providing accessibility locally.

I don't usually comment on fragmented reviews, but I glimpsed this card, and immediately looked at both Primal Druid and Viridian Emissary in Karador and the three of us went: Damn. Decks that subvert sacrifice costs into advantage (like mine) will probably turbocharge this cycle.
