Farewell looks good, the global exile wipe selection is surprisingly small, and this one has a lot of flexibility. Seriously, if you want a wipe that hits non-creatures and exiles, the competition is
Play of the Game and
Perilous Vault (also
Urza's Ruinous Blast but I'm not sure that can really be called a global wipe)
Not gonna do anything outside of EDH, but in my
Phelddagrif deck... *rubs hands excitedly*
To kind of chill my excitement however, the more leaks that are released, the more skeptical I become about these being real. Many people have already pointed out that there is no reason with modern technology for the leaks to have such poor image quality, originally I assumed that these must be cropped and blown up, or maybe taken from a video of playtesting, so the quality can be explained away. But now we have: cards with low resolution, cards without art, cards with atrocious glare, and a crumpled up and then smoothed out card. It's not impossible, but I feel like if the leak was genuine, the card images would have all been attained the same way, so the images would likely be of the same quality.
The inconsistent card image quality (especially Risona requiring detective levels of inspection to decipher) coupled with the cards being released one at a time, makes this feel a bit too perfect.
Ultimately, I'm not too concerned either way, there are been a couple of cards that look like they'd be fun, and I'm pretty excited to mix the channel lands with
Life from the Loam and/or
Slogurk, the Overslime. But I won't be heartbroken if that's not the case.
I suppose it's also possible that these cards are real, and they're being intentionally "leaked" this way to build hype.
Or I'm overthinking this, and the leaks are just that: leaks
