I usually just single-sleeve, but I do sometimes double-sleeve. When I do, I swear by the sealable Dragon Shield inners. They make decks significantly thicker than even normal inner sleeves, but it's near perfect protection. Triple-sleeving is almost certainly heavily overkill... but protecting nice art sleeves can be tempting. At the same time, it'd probably threaten to make a commander deck impossible to shuffle unassisted. If you need so many layers of sleeves that your 100-card deck starts to resemble a Battle of Wits deck, you've got a serious problem, I'd say.
39 Commander decks and counting. I'm sure this is fine, and not at all a problem.

I can't say I've ever been seriously inclined to double sleeve but if I was I'd much rather just use proxies.

I double sleeve all my decks but it's mainly cos I prefer to keep my expensive cards in perfect fits in binders. Works fine for me.

Single sleeved other than Molimo causes thats a bloody expensive pile of cardboard, so it got the double sleeve treatment. I should really move the Cradle over to Gimbal, but I really can't be bothered to double sleeve a second deck and then have to get a bigger storage box than my Superhive.

The Ur-Dragon is the only deck I have that's double sleeved because it's running the 10 fetches, the 10 shocks, crucible, and a good number of other cards that ain't cheap. My other decks are single sleeved because swapping cards in and out of double sleeves are slightly more annoying and also single sleeved decks don't feel like I'm shuffling a pile of knives.

Zero sleeves. Not in the 90s when I started, and not now (granted IRL games are virtually non-existent for em, but no sleeved when I do get a game).
They screw up the riffle shuffle with bridge too much.

Once in my youth I came across two players playing a Legacy match without sleeves, no playmats, nothing. Just cardboard and table. I was audibly shocked and asked them for the love of God, why? One of them turned to me and said "It's just how we roll." The other shrugged in agreement then proceeded to Force-pitch-Force to counter a Tarmogoyf.

I just single sleeve all of my decks, whether they are full of cheap $0.05 cards, or full of expensive reserved list cards and foils. Seems to have served me fine enough.

Yeah I really don't get the hype on double-sleeving. I've never noticed any wear on my cards from single-sleeving and I hate shuffling double-sleeved.

That said, if I could only double-sleeve my transforming cards, I'd do that. Most of the time I play my pathways on the front side unless I really need the back side because I don't feel like taking it out, and I know I'll forget to put it back.

I only have one deck double sleeved, my Avacyn deck because at this point it has cost me several thousands pounds to put together and I want double protection on the alters, which means all cards have to be double sleeved.

For the rest of my decks, I already spend too much time re-sleeving decks as I rebuild them, or take them apart and make new ones. If they all had double sleeves, I'd go insane

For me its to protect against spills - sure, I play with sober adults in a controlled environment, but that doesn't stop the fact that one of us might just deck a bottle of Pepsi over by accident, and I include myself in that.

I had a friend who never sleeved. He'd been a tourney grinder some time before I met him, and had some very expensive cards in...not great condition. People were appalled when he'd rifle shuffle a deck they'd just seen $100s of dollars worth of cards played out of. He'd shrug and say, "I'm never selling them, so who cares?"

I have my entire 560 card cube that's 100% proxies double sleeved. It's not because of value protection anymore. I definitely got into double sleeving when I was younger because of advertising and my general LGS culture. Now that I have so many sleeves I might as well use them. I also find sleeving / unsleeving to be a relaxing, enjoyable activity.

I probably won't buy any more double sleeves but I'm definitely going to keep using the ones that I have. I think about half my decks are double sleeved.

Pfft, you heathens only double and triple sleeve? All my cards are triple-sleeved, laminated, and then encased in steel for maximum protection. I can never alter my decks, but they'll also survive the heat-death of the sun. Anything less for my $20 card is just too risky.

/s

I don't get the hype over double and triple-sleeving. I don't play with kids, I suppose, and we just enforce a hard "no drinks on the table" rule during game night and wheel in some C-tables and other places to keep drinks and snacks. I sleeve decks once to minimize wear-and-tear and I typically pile shuffle with a few riffles afterwards. The option to riffle shuffle is nice, and already hard with 100 sleeved cards - it's just not possible with 100 double-sleeved.

it used to be one! i just liked matte color sleeves in like orange or lavender or whatever. no major incident ever befell them, maybe i'll go lick my cards right now
the cards are being repurposed for weirder projects - i can't hang with commander, don't like the constant presence of staples or the power level of the products aimed directly at it. seems more likely i will be single sleeving my solo format garbage no-one cares about instead \o/

I've sat across from a non-sleeves user too. The dude was playing Edric, Spymaster of Trest and it was not a budget deck. Carried in a sandwich bag. Held together with rubber bands. We were subjected to worn out copies of Tropical Island, multiple fetch lands, Urza's Saga Exploration, and Alliances Force of Will being shuffled. Thoroughly.

On the other end of the spectrum we also once faced a troll playing a quadruple sleeved Arjun, the Shifting Flame deck loaded with cards that make him shuffle his deck.

I always double-sleeve my cards: inners and outers. Doesn't matter if it's an expensive or cheap deck.

I used to do that, but then one of them was dented when I dropped it into a black hole. These days, I slab them in carbonite.

More seriously, I single-sleeve... and that's primarily to make them easier to shuffle. I generally favor cheap cards, so I don't worry that much if something happens to them.

...I've recently been toying with the idea of making a bar cube though - no sleeves, and no cards that make tokens, use counters, or otherwise need extraneous game pieces.

Single sleeve it is, but some more expensive cards in my decks are double sleeved. I guess that means they are marked? Yeah, of course I can remember all those cards across several decks.

Double sleeved, dragon shield mattes + dragon shield sealables. I got these nice yellow mattes from another LGS that I can't remember the brand for, which I enjoy too (which means they're definitely not ultra pro trash). Proxy or no, commander or modern, I prefer the feel of a dbl sleeve deck such that single sleeve makes me think I'm forgetting something. Single, no kids, no drinks, just like my dbl sleeves. Sealables on binder cards so I can just add a matte when I take it from the binder to add to a deck.

I double sleeve all my decks. Its important that if you are going to do it to reverse the direction of the inner sleeve as it helps a LOT against liquid spills. I think liquid spills is the primary reason to double sleeve. That said, I don't use a playmat because I don't really see the point so long as there is nothing spilled or some sort of sticky table.
