Been playing in a new meta recently, and there's a pretty significant amount of combo going on. I'm not a huge fan of combo, but I figure it might be a good idea to have at least one deck to match the meta.

(basically: I got wrecked trying to play fair aggro decks this week, so screw it we ball)

Anyway, I'm pleased to see that one of the most interesting and, imo, nasty combos sees very little play in commander and can thus be played by a hipster such as myself, namely: Reset + Reiterate. The combo has two elements I think are really strong: It goes off entirely from the stack, so its only vulnerability is to counterspells, and it can (must) go off on an opponents' turn, which means that, like the classic legacy deck solidarity, you can combo off at the best possible time - often in response to an enemy trying to win themselves, once it becomes clear that none of the other players have counterspells available and the coast is (mostly) clear.

Anyway, here are some of the commanders I think look like solid options to helm:

Pure Izzet:

Yusri, Fortune's Flame - An insane CA engine with no support, and I suspect underrated and potentially ignored because most people play him as "coin flip tribal".

Mizzix of the Izmagnus/Vadrik, Astral Archmage/Magnus the Red - All enable the combo to go off early, but then also make it vulnerable to spot removal so I'm kinda off it. Listed mostly to explain my reasoning for disliking them.

Galazeth Prismari - helps with the Turnabout version of the combo, potentially, but not reset. A solid spellslingy UR commander, though again it doesn't help us very directly.

Grixis:
Gives access to generic tutors and better removal options

Kess, Dissident Mage - makes a lot of sense for a spellslingy deck, though given that she can't help the combo I'm not so sure she's worth it.

Marchesa, Dealer of Death - Gives a lot of CA and plays well as a control deck. Especially with the tutors black offers, seems trivial to assemble the combo by 8 mana.

Parnesse, the Subtle Brush - Stealth option since Parnesse is a pretty awful card in a vacuum. Given reiterate, we could lean into spell copying and use it to get extra value from removal.

Cecily, Haunted Mage - generic value option, almost certainly overshadowed by marchesa and her partners are pretty crap. Gives access to a lot of colors though.

Jeskai:
Gives access to Silence effects and better the best removal options

Kykar, Wind's Fury - can lower the cost of the combo and give us extra treasure mana to react (though being red is meh) and/or chump blockers. Kind of a popular combo engine on his own, though, so maybe too high profile.

Hinata, Dawn-Crowned - lowers the cost of the combo and our interaction, while making interaction against us harder. Bit of a wheel greaser.

Narset, Enlightened Exile - bit of a generic value option, probably not good enough.

Elsha of the Infinite - similar to kykar, kinda high profile but powerful.

Gavi, Nest Warden - much lower profile, and lets us cycle towards the combo.

Pramikon, Sky Rampart - low profile defensive option.

Vadrok, Apex of Thunder - funky option. I guess it's kinda hard to use the mutate to restart the combo unless you have a way to flash it in, though.

Sevinne, the Chronoclasm - flashback value seems like a fairly natural fit, and it plays some defense

Temur:
Adds ramp I guess

Kalamax, the Stormsire - helps a little with the initial combo, but mostly a generic value piece honestly.

Looking at the list, I think I'm leaning towards Marchesa or Yusri, though objectively Kykar is also a strong option (although I kinda hate him).

As far as having a win condition with Reset+Reiterate from the Commander zone, Niv-Mizzet, Parun, Thrasios, Triton Hero+red partner are options

Marchesa, Dealer of Death however should be a win condition in most games because you can wait until your opponent has put an instant or sorcery on the stack, respond to get your infinite mana, and then you can copy whatever spell it is unlimited times committing a crime each time to draw your deck and then Lightning Bolt your opponents to death for style points.

@darrenhabib right, I forgot to mention thrasios. Thrasios does have a bit of a rep but he's a solid choice to play draw-go here. Partner options in red are kinda meh though, probably vial smasher just to get black?

I might hate niv too much to play it lol. I think I've heard he is true cEDH as well? I'm not aiming quite that high.

Niv has a cEDH, lots of cheap interaction and combos with Curiosity or Ophidian Eye.

Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh is all the rage with Polymorph type effects into Hullbreaker Horror/Tidespout Tyrant.
This is backed up with consistently casting all the commander matters cards like Deflecting Swat, Jeska's Will, etc and now Guild Artisan, Thunderclap Drake.
Font of Magic probably going to cost reduce stuff by 3 most games.

For you, probably Yusri because he is cheap, evasive, draws cards with absolutely no outside support from the rest of your deck, has some self-deprecation in the shocks which makes opponents think that you are killing yourself, and is generally not doing anything that cannot be seen by just reading the card, so your opponents are not worried about what you do next that might draw additional attention to your draw engine. Seems like the perfect Dirk commander for a generic izzet combo deck.
