But the dream of the Sorrow's Path deck has remained. The biggest limitation is that, without a commander that can tutor SP into play, we have to run a lot of land tutors in order to reliably get access to it, and the whole deck build around it.
(I should maybe explain quickly that Sorrow's Path is sometimes considered the worst magic card ever printed, so I love the idea of building a whole deck around exploiting it)
Wayta offers a different spin on the archetype - while she can't find SP on her own, she does provide her own ability to activate enrage, while also making all your enragers twice as effective once you find SP. This does take some of the emphasis off Sorrow's Path unfortunately, but I think Wayta is still the best Golos replacement we've seen for the deck. She's also in the three primary colors for the archetype (though we do lose out on some of the draw, plus of course Golos' insane card advantage ability - though she does provide repeatable removal as a soft mana sink).
Here's where I'm at so far:
Wayta's Sorrow
Approximate Total Cost:
To build this as a perm deck I'd definitely going to tune down the manabase, though I might poach some fetches from Kaervek so I can at least have a decent setup.
