Isn't it v'rrik?
"Original"? The card depicts Tahngarth as he originally looked - Volrath tortured and surgically altered him when he was captured on Rath resulting in how he looked during the Invasion. This is the young, brash, and vital Tahngarth with more green aspects to his personality as opposed to the more resentful and hardened monored version of his first card.
That's what he looked like before Volrath warped his body. See Tahngarth's Rage and the Tahngarth Vanguard card.
As far as I am aware the Weatherlight Saga characters are reimagined cards from earlier printings whereas I don't think K'rrik has had a card before now.DirkGently wrote: ↑4 years ago"Hmm, well I need to draw a card with my shadowmage infiltrator, so I guess I'll attack you, Bill. I'm really sorry about the one damage but I really need the card"
"Yeah btw bill, tahngarth's gonna hit you for 15. Sorry it's just that I'd really like to kill you."Isn't it v'rrik?
Maro in the Volrath preview said that the 2 missing Weatherlight Saga characters were ones that had a previous card (Tahngarth is the third) but K'rrick never had a card so a 4th is still missing. Or maybe he just got confused and K'rrick is the 4th Saga character
I was gonna correct you, but apparently many people here know the lore too.
I also thought about Crovax, but he has had three printings so far, while Tsabo has only had one. Nevertheless, both are legit guesses. Let's wait and see.CommanderMaster999 wrote: ↑4 years agoI'm sorry the correct safe bet is a new and improved Crovax he's a vampire and vampire tribal has Ben the sub theme of madness

I think this is Tahngarth before the torture and mutilation.
Your right that he looks like the pre-mutilation one, I had honestly forgotten how he looked in the first place but I really loved the corrupted appearance of Minotaur and the this just seems like it could be any Minotaur from Theros or anywhere else.Cyberium wrote: ↑4 years agoI was gonna correct you, but apparently many people here know the lore too.
Tangarth was considered a very beautiful Minotaur by his tribe and himself, and he took great pride in it. Because he's also a very powerful warrior, his pride was over the top and led to his capture and torment in Volrath's hand. Volrath tortured Karn and force the pacifist to kill, while mutated Tangarth because the bull loved his own appearance.
Volrath is a sick bastard, I love him.
EDIT: And, consider how artists these days all try to put too much muscle onto minotaurs, I'm glad this one remains faithful to the character's original design; fit, agile, smoother. I don't like the eyes though, it's too generic compare to older art like, say, Pete Venters.
You like the mutilated version? That is what you'd say, VOLRATH.
