Slogurk, the Overslime - if LftL was a commander

I love Life from the Loam. Definitely in my top 10 cards. Not sure why I never got around to building Slogurk when he came out, but I already had a bunch of the cards pulled out for my Me, the Immortal deck, so it was a pretty quick build. Threw it together yesterday mostly while riding shotgun to my LGS. So if you're wondering why I have Voidslime but not Disallow, that's why.

Anyway, not sure if I'll have an opportunity to play it much because it's kind of a dickish deck between the strip mine recursion and all the control magics. I want to try using theft effects more as a way to play control while still developing a board.

I do think the deck needs some work (probably more lands tbh, though I only got to play one game before realizing it was a bad match for the meta) but I'm not sure I have anywhere I can really play it - the places I'm playing are probably too casual for it. And also I need to borrow the cards for other decks (shocker that utility lands and counterspells get a decent amount of play in my collection). But I'm at least tracking the current decklist here so that I can perhaps return to it after I cannibalize it for parts.

I love Slogurk and he's one of my favorite decks, although mine is more focused on pushing big numbers with the commander for OTK. Obvious omission here is the original Ozolith, but I'll also mention Surestrike Trident and Rogue's Passage as ways to seal the deal.

Trade routes has always been really good for me in this kind of build and you use even more lands than I typically do.

Circling back around to this, I've been experimenting with Sakura-Tribe Scout, Skyshroud Ranger, Scaled Herbalist, and Llanowar Scout with my list. You can really glut lands into your hand with Slogurk, and these act as pseudo-Explorations 2-5.
