Re: Is a vehicle deck viable?
I had fun with my Greasefang, Okiba Boss deck. Orzhov control that doesn't so much flood the board with vehicles but aristocrat away other people's creatures and swing with a vehicle or two.

Re: Ephara, God of the Polis - Flash & Taxes
I like Voidmage Prodigy . It's a bummer it doesn't have flash, but you're already running 5 wizards, one of which is Glen Elendra so not that one but the others could be sac'd for counters. Hinterland Hermit // Hinterland Scourge seems decent too but probably too easy to play around, Voidmage is nic...

Re: Buried under new sets, what are some good newer draw spells/engines in esper?
There are a lot of options, and it IS overwhelming. My aim in this thread is more, has anyone who's been playing recently (which I haven't much) had good experience with newer draw engines/draw spells? I'm definitely able to look through and weigh the options, but sometimes someone's experience is w...

Buried under new sets, what are some good newer draw spells/engines in esper?
I do plan on doing my own search through recent sets, but I just put together a list for a Kamiz, Obscura Oculus infect deck and started brainstorming good draw options for an esper aggro deck, and aside from all the old favs, I realized I don't know what the kids are playing these days. So for some...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Digging the new adventure cards. Not top tier cards, but I already play several adventures, especially the 3 mana ramp a land into played untapped one that's a beater later. Having a useful spell stapled to something that can be cast later for beef/blocker is decent.

I built a Kaima deck that was fun enough but not very strong and you're right, this is just the thing. Sevinne's Reclamation and/or Sun Titan hits most of your pieces.

Re: Parnesse, the Subtle Brush - I don't actually have a decklist I just want to understand
If you counter the ramp spell you just annoy the ramper, if you copy it and give a copy to another player you have more mana available and have forged good will. But you're not wrong in that's a lot of work for meh. I do think you're right in that it seems like there's a potential for something here...

Re: Parnesse, the Subtle Brush - I don't actually have a decklist I just want to understand
Here's my take, and I'm planning on building her. Most grixis spellslinging decks are either helmed by a general who is an obvious threat, Kess, Dissident Mage and friends, or by a general who is there for the colors and doesn't scream threat. I think Parnesse is good for a spellslinging deck that w...

Re: Athreos - The Sweeping Janitor
Working on my own orzhov control list so was excited to see yours. Curious about Trove Warden. Card you have good experience with, trying out? Seems slow and might be better as Sevinne's Reclamation, but I have trouble gauging the effectiveness of cards like that.

Re: Best Commander/Colors for a Political Deck?
Oh I like Ardenn as an unusual political pick. I was just thinking how Kenrith, the Returned King has the potential to be a Phelddagrif but because of how he's usually played his threat potential is way too high. I suppose you could still do it, but it'll take a few games before people believe you'r...

Re: Best Commander/Colors for a Political Deck?
Thanks for the replies. These are a really good series of points. I was mistaking generals that manipulate the game state for political cards when in reality a general that does that is actually a threat. Assuming every player is set out to win the game, even a general that looks symmetrically benef...

Best Commander/Colors for a Political Deck?
New Capenna is flush with political cards and I'm curious what you all think. To me a political deck works at some level to leverage the psychology of a group game, working outside the boundaries of 1 v 1 magic. Usually a win is achieved through keeping a high life total while others chip away at ea...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I usually buy a precon to play with, see how it plays out of the box, figure out what the designer was going for, but as much as I like a lot of these individual cards I'm not inspired by any of them. Especially after the Neon Dynasty precons played pretty well (even as duel decks) right out of the ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Lagrella, the Magpie What? I've read this card a dozen times and I don't quite get it. Seems too powerful for WUB, but it seems like an O-Ring for as many creatures as you want, basically a wipe for all token creatures. Is that right? As far as I understand it, it lets you exile up to 4 creatures. ...

Re: Cool Creatures to Remove Counters From for Falco
Thanks for the suggestions. Luminous Broodmoth is sweet. While I'm at wrath protection Twilight Shepherd is one I haven't played in a lonnnng time. As far as the counters when opponents cast spells deal, Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker is another one. Lost Auramancers is probably one of the cooler ones ...

Cool Creatures to Remove Counters From for Falco
Falco Spara, Pactweaver is my kind of janky general. No idea what payoff I might go for yet, but I want to start brainstorming creatures you want to pull counters from. I did a quick search for creatures with cumulative upkeeps in bant and unfortunately there's nothing great where it's worthwhile t...

Re: Best "Out of the Box" Precons?
I was impressed with Lorehold Legacies. Out of the box there's a lot of good engines and ability to affect the board. A decent player in our group took out a table of constructed decks. One change that doesn't require buying new cards is to switch out Alibou, Ancient Witness for Osgir, the Reconstru...

Re: Why Ruination is my least favorite card
My quick two cents. There was a time when Ruination fit the format and that time has passed. Not only does it actually hurt cheap manabases but it sends the green player wayyy ahead. Also, yes, more targeted land removal, but EXILE, not destroy. It's so frustrating to waste a removal spell on Field ...

If I have a Luminous Broodmoth and a crewed vehicle without flying, say a Dermotaxi , and the dermotaxi dies as a creature, will it come back as an uncrewed vehicle artifact with a flying counter on it?

I commented this on their video. Be the change you want to see and all that. A lot of these issues are valid and their show exacerbated them by exhibiting decks using the problems they're pointing out. Here's hoping the show uses deck restrictions to slow down their games and use fewer overly expens...

Re: Legend of Zelda Themed Deck (Help)
My gut pick is Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor . Naya colors like mentioned above and he gets strength from lands... like chopping down grass for rupees for example, so whatever that landfall giving you treasure guy is, definitely needs to go in there. Obuun is also an elf and looks like Link a bit. My sec...
