I find non-mechanical / suggestive challenges are a better prompt than very specific Magic IIWs. I completely tune out when things roll around to "base a card off of a background character from a pre-Mending novel."

I'm sadly not a fan of sacrificing food tokens for alternate costs, if I make food I want to be able to "eat" them, otherwise they may as well be something else.

Grapeshot every turn! Very cool actually, I think this version of the effect is legitimately viable for non-degenerate storm combo decks so it's not as binary as the original grapeshot, so kudos for that.

Is the flavor that the wine makes the creature pass out drunk, and the vinegar just straight up kills them ? Alright alright, I can get behind this. I think it's clever how you expanded on the standard food ability into this card instead of tacking it on in the end like it's usually done.

Ayy this is the proper way to do food tokens imo, no need to sacrifice for additional effects, just add additional effects to the normal sacrifice ability.

This seems quite strong, especially with fetchlands available. The ability to farily consistently have a 5/4 flash on turn 3 seems extremely strong, although I expect that in limited, it would probably be fine? Its two modes are definitely wildly different.

This feels like it could also include white somehow, but is fine in Golgari. I'm not sure quite how I feel about this - it's definitely a unique set of abilities, but it punishes things at an odd time for me.

I really don't like the idea of defensive poison as an archetype. I'd prefer that this give the creature a -1/-1 counter or proliferate (but not both). I would expect that just leads to board stalls in a more feel-bad way than usual.

I think this is probably too slow - I'd prefer that you only have to remove two growth counters, or that it be common - but otherwise is a fine and unassuming uncommon.

I'm afraid I can't give the same sort of in-depth analysis as the other judges, so my judgement is going to be a bit more arbitrary, going more for overall feel of the card as a cohesive and flavorful whole.
