Beautiful. Volrath is absolutely on flavor, Vesuvan Shapeshifter's new art trumps the original, and that black morph enchantment is a cool variation on traditional morph cards. I am officially excited for this set!

Oh wow, def wasn't expecting a Sultai Volrath, but I love the design and the art! Def will be building with him! We also get a Morph Enchantment that is just powerful with good design and art as well. These are great!

Beautiful. Morph deck has some very interesting options by the look of it. Dunno how well he would combine with Hapatra. Does blue add anything to the -1 counter strategy?

My favorite MTG bag guy gets a new card, and it's in the one deck I have no interest in buying. WHY WOTC WHY?

All three of these are excellent. Vesuvan Shapeshifter's new art is incredible, Gift of Doom is a really neat design, and Volrath is Volrath.

Vorrath looks really fun, lots of ways to get counters on creatures in Sultai.

Maro's preview article today said that the C19 designers came to him when they were doing Volrath and asked if being Sultai would fit bc they wanted him to be an alt commander. MaRo said that Green fits bc Volrath was always into the different creatures of the Multiverse and liked to experiment on them to see if they could be improved. He also went on to say that he felt Volrath should've been Blue the first time around; Volrath is Dimir with a bigger Blue than Black focus, and Green third due to fascination with nature.

Volrath certainly seems fun. It's interesting that he can't choose to keep his copied form so if the creature you want to copy leaves play you could end up in a bad spot.

I wasn't expecting a new Volrath card to be a perfect fit for my Atraxa deck, but here we are, I guess.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Volrath allows you to copy a creature with any kind of counter on it, right? So, +1/+1 counter creatures could be copied as well.

Hopefully Orim, pre-vampire Crovax and maybe Tahngarth?

Or it'll be Greven or another baddie from the Weatherlight Saga.

I daresay, a Predator vehicle to match the new Weatherlight vehicle.

Given that we have two enemy color legends, the other three might be that way as well, which means Orzhov, Simic, and Izzet. Izzet could be Ertai? Orzhov being Crovax, and Simic might be someone else. I can't imagine Tangarth being Simic unless you count the part where he was deformed by Volrath as an attempt to mock him, though Izzet MIGHT fit because of that.

Nope black is only in the morph and madness deck so orzhov is impossible

Same with simic since blue and green is only in the morph deck

Good call, so that leave us Izzet, perhaps there will be one mono-color legend? I remember Orim asw tournament play in mono-white 60 before Mother of Runes was printed.
