I am curious if the discard effect of Indominus Rex, Alpha is the same timing of traditional clones like Sakashima of a Thousand Faces. If you were to clone him would you get the discard effect or is there an issue that they are both enters do x effects causing some sort of conflict? Sorry that I have two threads back to back on this same card. I assumed it was better to ask different questions in different threads.

You will be able to do both effects. As the Clone enters, you do its own Replacement Effect. Once that applies, the game then checks to see if any other Replacement Effects should apply. And there is: Rex's own effect so you will get to do that effect now.

616.1c. If any of the replacement and/or prevention effects would cause an object to become a copy of another object as it enters the battlefield, one of them must be chosen. If not, proceed to rule 616.1d.
616.1e. Any of the applicable replacement and/or prevention effects may be chosen.
616.1f. Once the chosen effect has been applied, this process is repeated (taking into account only replacement or prevention effects that would now be applicable) until there are no more left to apply.

The order here doesn't really matter since even though the Clone effect technically happens earlier in the process, Rex's will be seen either way once 616.1f applies to repeat the process.
