Still waiting for mono-white - tertiary color - counterspell since Conflux. And mono-green Banisher Priest.
Maro's mentioned the mono-green Banisher Priest isn't actually going to happen. That was there in his Color Pie 2017 article because a little bit of the potential future leaked in: he'd just recently put the original Eldraine card for the Big Bad Wolf into the file, and that version of the Big Bad Wolf gobbled up a creature until (per the Red Riding Hood rhyme) it was slain and the creature was freed from its stomach. It was an experiment they decided not to go with.

PS: Take it lightheartedly, I mostly discuss here for the sake of discussion.
Discussion is good. :)

As for certain effects, tetriary in certain colors. Look at how long it took them to realize that enchantment removal actually made sense in black, as long as it wasn't your own enchantments you got rid off. It took them over a decade. However, if you are looking for hard counterspells outside of blue, don't hold your breath. Although counterspells are allowed outside of the color (in white and black respectively), hard counterspells will not happen outside of it because it would wreak havoc upon the game balance. The few hard counters we have gotten outside of blue that still make sense color pie wise, have either been very, very specific (Illumination), and/or had a way for your opponent to get around it (Dash Hopes). I would not expect anything outside of soft counters in white and black in the future.

As for the Mono-green banisher priest effect, as @spacemonaut mentioned, it was a potential experiment they decided not to go through with because it didn't make sense in the color pie. It's an effect, that for now, only will exist in white (primary) and black (secondary).

If you want we could hypothetically also open up a design discussion thread where we can always talk more about the intricacies of the design of Magic.

Sorcery (U)
Look at the top five cards of your library. You may put any number of them into your graveyard. Put the rest on the bottom of library in random order. For each card put into library this way create a 0/1 green Insect creature token with flying.

IIW: One submission too far

is nice, I do belive that all threads in Custom Card Design already doubles as design discussions. There is even Random Card of Day here. It just happened that this time relevant subject was on Flamingo.

The standard 1/1 green insect token is actually a Cricket of Unusual Size. (Or Cous for short).

Cricket is a family of Orthopteran insects played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a 22-yard (20-metre) pitch with a grasshopper at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on six legs. It has a mainly cylindrical body, a round head, and long antennae. The front players are adapted as tough, leathery elytra, and some crickets chirp by rubbing parts of these together. The hind players are membranous and folded when not in use for bowling; many species, however, are poor at bowling. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at the grasshopper using hind legs with enlarged femora, providing power for batting (and running between the grasshoppers) while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either grasshopper); and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The word has been used in combination to describe long-recognised unrelated taxa[3] in the suborder Ensifera, such as king cricket and mole cricket. The largest member of the family is bull cricket, Brachytrupes, which is played by players up to 5 cm (2 in) long.
