*I ripen, then drop from the tree. I dust myself off*
All right, let's go.
Interesting ability in the repeatable "artifact Edict."
Cool little card on its own merits, something I would design myself, but there's no fruit here, unless the intent is the fruiting body of the fungus. Admittedly, I did not specify what kind of fruit, so bonus points for thinking out of the box.
Banana Nana is simple and interesting to me, I think better suited as a common, but probably needs reminder text to show that it triggers off itself.
Bananobot seems ripe (hah!) for disaster, I can't help but feel there's a way to break Ghave-style.
Ban Bananas might be a little too good if the Limited environment is heavily focused on.
Bananathema is perfect.

Did you know that Oviraptor means Egg Thief because the first fossil of one was found clutching an egg, but later, it was theorized that the egg was its own, thus making its name, Egg thief, ironic? Normally, I like to give out honorable mentions, but everyone's designs were really clean this time, I feel like I'd just give it to everyone who didn't win. Speaking of...
Winner: @Cythare Just a clean, simple design that works perfectly, and feels fun to use.

On vacation, so quick hits judging:
Merg1: This Xira is pretty sweet. She feels kinda pushed, so I'm curious if she'd be a mythic or a rare, but could work either way in the right setting (or be a Commander deck card). The card draw ability feels a little tacked on, and I wish it was worked into the rest of the card to feel more cohesive.
Merg2: I like this one! It'll be a little swingy in Limited, but I like it as an anti-control card.
Meg1: I love the design, but this feels like it would have a problematic play pattern. Maybe if the Shell token entered tapped and requires a tap to activate?
space: Even though the tick is blue, I've never thought of him as a blue character Magic-wise. I think this could mostly be accomplished with being red, maybe with blue worked into the text of the effect if you want it for color identity? I love Arthur and have no notes for his design.
Meg2: Insect-exalted! I love the feel here of choosing between going tall and going wide, and the land-eating feels both appropriate and fairly-costed. I'm curious if this was designed as a pre-spark or post-MOM Grist, but it doesn't change my feelings on the card itself.
looking: I think that I'd like the last ability more if it destroyed only permanents equal to X. Otherwise, I feel this potentially scaled up a bit too easily. The feel of the design is great, though!
HM: spacemonaut. Your Arthur design is my favorite card entry, but he is not an insect, so…
Winner: Megiddo, for Grist.

i definitely started at blue because he is blue, but i think it also works, personally. i think of the tick as basically constantly thinking and philosophical and insightful, and the way he talks shows he's quite clever; he's just also very unworldly, so he's working with a set of material that's different to the rest of us which is why it's funny and seems silly. like in this clip! at least in the amazon show he's constantly thinking things through, trying to reason and strategise with people, even when they're people who are right this moment trying to beat him up.Cythare wrote: ↑8 months agospace: Even though the tick is blue, I've never thought of him as a blue character Magic-wise.
