Welcome to the Card Creation League! Everyone is free to participate in either or both of the first two rounds. Come join us!

Theme

It's Blocking Month here at the CCL. The less-appreciated half of combat - let's let it shine.

Challenge

Design a creature card that can block multiple creatures per combat (at least under some circumstances).

• Make sure to include a rarity.
• For example, Hundred-Handed One, Avatar of Hope, Coastline Chimera, and Ghastbark Twins would all qualify.

Anyone can enter this second round! Your submissions are due Monday, April 18th, 23:59 EST.

Please note: For this month we will continue asking first and second round contestants to evaluate seven other contestants during the critique and top 3 period, in order to increase the total number of evaluations each contestant gets.

in a normal set this would be a sphinx lol... relly cool flavor but i think contantly looking ant your opponent's libraries will get annoying

pure flying hoser card but really perfect at that. I think spidercycling is the coolest part... coul use it to tutor for changelings lol

So basically the ultimate multi blocker, doesn't have to divide its damage but instead just hits everything full power. really game slowing but i like the design a lot

I as really confused by this card, then I figured it out and loved it. It's like playing combat by gentlemanly rules

I like the flavor -- I think constantly looking at libraries would be a pain, so maybe a cheap activation would be better?

I mean, very good against flying creatures, and can cheaply cycle for spiders otherwise. I don't quite get why it's an elemental, but otherwise I quite like it.

I don't quite get what "tempting" is doing here -- it doesn't make a ton of sense flavorfully since Gorgons are typically seen as being horrifying in appearance, and mechanically it doesn't really describe what the card is doing. As for the card itself, it seems fine but isn't very exciting.

Interesting. Basically it's a nightmare to double block or to attack with multiple creatures into if you're holding mana up. Unfortunately, I think this would be an absolute nightmare in the rules -- for example, what happens if this is blocked by an X/1? Do you get to assign the additional point of damage to another creature? And then what happens if this is given trample and is blocked by multiple X/1's? You can see how it opens up a real can of worms.

This card would give the rules manager an aneurysm. What happens if you turn Lazav, the Multifarious into a copy of this and then also have another one on the battlefield? As soon as you try to attack or block you cause a paradox and the game crashes. It's a fun idea but doesn't come anywhere near working.

@slimytrout - I actually had to think about creature type for this one. I finally went with elemental because it was some kind of substance.

I forgot to crit this one, apologies for that, but I had some time so here is some non-scoring feedback where I don't include a top3.

netn10: I would like to see this 'all-seeing' ability on a creature that isn't so dominating in combat. Also I'm just not so sure that blue should be getting entangler on vigilant creatures this big.

Henlock: I like literally can't imagine casting this card. If i have a really good Spider somewhere in it, I might include this as a way to fake extra copies of it, but I don't think it's doing much else for me.

kwanyeegor-ii: II mean ok I guess. Narrow color hoser is narrow color hoser.

RaikouRider: Okay this card I'm excited by. Nice use of extra-blocks to multiply the effect of firebreathing.

slimytrout: Yeah ok. This isn't doing anything wild but I don't feel like it will ruin any formats.

MonoRedMage: Not sure what the untap ability is doing here but ok.
