Any ideas? I also noticed that I don't have my
in there. Seems like I gotta fix that at some point.
Anyone else have ideas of cards that I've missed/cards that I should cut? Ones like lich I know aren't amazing, but I like to keep the suicide aggro archetype-theme, just cuz people tend to like to see something that reflects the rakdos personality in the deck.
I mean that's at least a $160 fix lol, but yeah it's a fantastic card.
Underworld Breach might be a budget alternative if you can set it up. It works very well with your rituals. Main trick is to reliably fill your graveyard.
Doom Whisperer is great for that though.
General thoughts:
This is a really neat idea for a deck actually, and I'm surprised I haven't seen it or never thought of it myself!
So, I make this suggestion to everyone posting their decklist for critique: organize your list by card function, i.e. Demons, ramp, card draw, recursion, removal/interaction/control, and lands. Additional categories might be advisable based on the needs of the deck.
This will help you make cuts since it is easy to see how much of a given card type you have in those categories.
I notice you aren't running any removal or interaction to speak of. Are you relying on your commander for this? Just seems like there might be a need for at least some artifact/enchantment hate, or even something like
Deflecting Swat,
Tibalt's Trickery or
Imp's Mischief. While I agree with the sentiment, relying on combat damage from a high cmc creature without built in haste or protection seems... riksy to me.
Vandalblast might be something to consider just because it destroy common artifact stax cards that keep you from being able to attack.
All Is Dust might be your best bet for enchantment removal aside from
Chaos Warp
There are also a ton of black and red stax effects that might make your stategy more consistent. Not sure if that's a direction you want to consider though. I'm talking about things like:
Stranglehold,
Blood Moon,
Aether Flash Contamination etc...
You can also remove problematic cards before they are in play with
Possible cuts:
Your non-demon creatures. I know a lot of them might want to sacced, but I'm kind of a purist. An exception would probably be
Anger.
Moonlight Bargain this seems a bit heavy costed for what it does, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe
Ad Nauseam would be better?
Scheming Symmetry I really don't like this tutor. The fact that your opponent gets to use their card first is a pretty big disadvantage in my experience. Also, you are going to be big threat with this deck and generally people are going to get cards that specifically protect them against your strategy.
Tormenting Voice Cathartic Reunion I know why you want to run these, but in my experience, in this kind of deck, tutors are always going to be better picks than small scale card draw. Reason being is that these looting effects aren't really card advantage. It's usually more efficient to tutor for your big card advantage engines.
Torment of Hailfire I know this is an autoinclude for a lot of players, but do you reliably do enough damage with it? I don't see a ton of ways to get lots of colorless mana
Final Fortune does this reliably win you games? I can just see this being a dead card a lot of the time.
Demonlord Belzenlok - i cut this a while ago. Wasn't consistent enough for his mana cost, even with an etb support theme.
Cards that I might suggest:
Patriarch's Bidding seems good....
Cover of Darkness might help Rakdos to connect?
Jeska's Will one of the best red rituals right now
Rakdos, Lord of Riots seems like an auto include, no?
Orcus, Prince of Undeath - seems to have good synergy
Archfiend of Depravity one of my personal favorite demons.
Blood Speaker this is some old tech, but my friend runs it to very good effect. I think it also combos with
Deathrender
Kothophed, Soul Hoarder yeah, it can backfire but if you run sac outlets it's not so bad. One of the best draw engines in my Kaalia deck.
Fire Covenant I feel this to be pretty premium removal and would fit the decks theme very well. Instant speed is huge and for just 3 mana and some life it's a bargain to take out important threats.
Dragon Tempest having haste in this deck seems really important. I know you don't run dragons but most of your demons do have flying.
Heartless Summoning does wonders for getting those fatties into play. Because this is commander we care more about their effects than just losing 1/1. I know you want to stay away from non-demon permanents, but a few things like this might be well worth it.
Liliana's Contract - deserves a mention. I'm personally not a fan of alt-win cards and I know its probably not what you are going for... BUT it seems like it would be fairly easy to trigger in this deck.
Recoup Shreds of Sanity recurring some of your rituals, tutors, and reanimation spells might be a good thing.
