Re: Alchemy Legends
Rusko is infuriating. He ramps himself, so if you kill him he comes right back. If you don't kill him, he just gets flickered repeatedly and draws a million cards, and did you know that when you draw a million cards it is very easy to control the game (and draw more cards) and then you don't actual...

The One Ring – {4} Legendary Artifact Indestructible When The One Ring enters the battlefield, if you cast it, you gain protection from everything until your next turn. At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 1 life for each burden counter on The One Ring. {t}:Put a burden counter on The One Ring...

Re: Jumpstart for Commander Partners
So after working on it for, *checks thread history* apparently several months, I finished my project from this thread enough to play it. I can attest that it's a lot of fun so far (only 20 commanders done). Another week or two of testing/tweaking and it should be fit to post. That is a wonderful ne...

After getting five clocks out and multiple copies of Rusko, I will part with this last remark.
"Time will accelerate."

Re: Poison Counters
I finally played against a toxic deck - specifically, the Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa precon. It did end up winning the one game I played against it, but from what I gathered, that was the only time it won that day out of several games played. My impression of it was that it's a generally fair aggro dec...

Tournament staple with Awakening, but I have yet to see it in EDH.

Alchemy Legends
I notice several Alchemy legends can turn into actual cards without issue after some text change. For example, Rusko, Clockmaker could just create an artifact token of Midnight Clock , similar to what Garth One-Eye does. What do people think about these Alchemy legends? Does your LGS or game group a...

Wednesday, March 1st, 2023; Marisi, Breaker of the Coil Marisi, Breaker of the Coil Most people missed out on that " Your opponents can't cast spells during combat ." With some flash and instants, you can do your tricks without opponents interfering so long as you do it during combat.

Which also makes Helm of the Host a funny include here. I'm very much decided to go for an equipment-control route, taking ideas/cards from the Rebel precon.Ertai Planeswalker wrote: ↑1 year agoThey will also be good with Myriad, given that this gives a hasty attacker for each opponent.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
...anyway, I guess I won't complain about a Jeweled Lotus reprint, if only to see if that increases the chance of it being banned. Cards like Jeweled Lotus should never have been created, and I won't feel sorry if it gets banned. What makes me happy though, is Eldrazi Unbound and Planeswalker Party...

Re: Goro-Goro and Satoru, Sengoku Clan
Goblin Assault is another. All goblins are ninja in disguise. If we get multiple combats going as with Aggravated Assault / Hexplate Wallbreaker , even the recently created dragon tokens could attack again, therefore generate more dragons. Savage Beating allows the ability to trigger twice per comb...

The Locust God is also another good choice, providing evasive haste tokens and allows easier ninjas.

Re: Goro-Goro and Satoru, Sengoku Clan
First thing that comes to mind is stuff with raid from Khans block, also there might be some decent blitz stuff? Dragonlover Most certainly, and those haste-elementals generate by cards such as Elemental Mastery . And by the wording, you can create multiple dragons if you manage to damage more than...

Goro-Goro and Satoru, Sengoku Clan
Goro-Goro and Satoru The flavor of this pair just screams Sengoku era to me. Samurai, ninja, and dragon... I can't help but wanting to make a deck with them. Aside from the obvious ninjutsu synergy, haste creature(ish) like Dragonwing Glider can also trigger it while providing an evasive equipment ...

White Political Cards
While white's ramp/draw is traditionally lackluster in EDH (where it needs it most), there are exceptions where, if abided white's color identity, would allow white to go beyond # wise, such as Secret Rendezvous and Cut a Deal . Under that mentality, I figured white would also excel in politics wher...

I concur. If a player intended to beat me with an Oracle combo, I prefer his personality is more like classic Shaggy than the newest Velma.

Re: Poison Counters
Poison is similar to why Serra Ascendant got banned in 1v1; some decks just don't have answer on time to handle it. Against a whole table though, we see how quickly SA drops in power, again similar to poison on this regard. Echoing what 5colorsrainbow said, I appreciate the new design encourages you...

Re: Poison Counters
Ten poison is fine, given that the whole table would likely gang up on you after seeing a single drop of it. Besides, if blue/combo players can play cards like Mana Crypt with little to no hindrance, thanks to 40 starting life, might as well give aggro decks something to counteract all that brokenne...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I was hoping to see some controlling aspect in oil counters, since the oil is literally Phyrexia nanomites that corrupts, perhaps permanents with oil counter on it cannot be controlled by non-owners. Or, it'd function like devotion since, well, the oil is literally devotion to Phyrexia, except here ...
