Re: Tinybones - brewing resilient discard in EDH
I see you point but see this: You got Uba Mask or Omen Machine out and you suddenly have quite a few DEAD cards in a deck, namely all discard effects that are left. Your topdeck mode will give you these even if you don't need them anymore. But that's a flaw of playing discard anyway - if your oppone...

Re: Tinybones - brewing resilient discard in EDH
T&N is everyone's favourite Tooth and Nail which is usually infinite-combo enabler. You have no outs against infinite combos if they budge. Omen Machine is interesting card for Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and probably for him only.

Re: Grismold, the Cheekclapper or How to Heel-Turn in EDH
I like this concept but you could capitalize more on your own tokens. Spells with convoke will make your day especially Chord of Calling and Sprout Swarm . Avenger of Zendikar is great here as Grismold creates Plants and Craterhoof Behemoth makes for a decent plan B (token overrun). Also Earthcraft ...

Re: Tinybones - brewing resilient discard in EDH
I wouldn't go with Omen Machine . It's asking for being killed by things like T&N or any big creature beatdown they find in a top. It also blocks a draw part from Tinybones which is its main selling point. I'd rather use Possessed Portal if you insist on blocking draw effects but I'd focus on us...

Re: Tinybones - brewing resilient discard in EDH
Single card discard creatures and spells are too weak to use. Do not try to capitalize of Tinybones' draw each turn, go for the most powerful discard effects instead, Mindslicer makes big reset and you're still left with 1 card off Tinybones, Vindictive Lich is army in a can and Myojin of Night's Re...

PHYREXIAN type
Sorry if it's outdated news but I've just noticed a new creature type on scryfall.com. I'm not sure if it's official but if so then Wizards are up to bringing Phyrexian invasion back soon along with some Phyrexian-matter mechanics and huge errata to 227 creature cards. https://scryfall.com/search?as...

Re: Emiel the Blessed, ETB tool box
How about Great Oak Guardian / Village Bell-Ringer and more mana-elves? With enough of them you will generate infinite mana with the help of Emiel (and infinite P/T with GOG) which can be a way to win. Mana-elves are good in any Gx creature-matter deck anyway. You should also get rid of some expensi...

Re: Greven, Predator Captain - No Pain No Gain
I've found little gem to use with Greven - Unexpected Fangs . It's two-mana instant but lifelink counter stays on Greven till he leaves. How about using more "lifelosing" removal like Dismember , Snuff Out and/or Withering Boon instead of steal effects (which work well only when Greven is ...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
I dont really get the hype on Repository Skaab seems slow, and if we really wanted that effect on a zombie before we could have played Possessed Skaab yet noone did.. You cannot loop Living Death or Bidding with Possessed Skaab as it gets exiled when dies. Also one mana difference can be a lot in s...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
image.png Here's the picture for Overcharged Amalgam Basically Disallow for 1 more mana attached to a 3/3 flying zombie if you have another creature to sacrifice to it. This looks super solid, but holding up 4 mana is asking a lot . I'm already not running Disallow, because I don't want to hold up ...

Re: Exploration^2 or Loaming Las Vegas
As a long time Azusa driver I don't agree with some of your thoughts but I will talk about it later. For now, the first major mistake I found is: Woodland Bellower who gets Azusa, Lost but Seeking Bellower cannot find legendary creatures. It would be great if it could as not only Azusa but Nissa, Va...

Re: Jorn, God of Winter & Kaldring, the Rimestaff - JOrN SNOW..Winter is Coming
How about Dark Depths ? All you need is to free 2 land slots for this and Thespian's Stage and maybe another land to supplement deck with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth or Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth for DD and TS to make colored mana. Also Amulet of Vigor . UPDATE: It's interesting deck idea but I wonder ...

Re: Which kind of STAX?
Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools seems pretty great as a token generator in the command zone can help with some of the cards you may be looking at like Contamination and Smokestack . Damn, you're right. I never thought of running Contamination in two-colored deck but it's a frigging ultimate hoser! And I...

Which kind of STAX?
I currently tinker with the idea of creating Stax deck (to some extend) utilizing B instead of U and I have trouble choosing a Commander. The thing is each of my picks forces different card choices of stax pieces and I wonder what will be more universal and effective to build. So far I think about: ...

Re: The Command Tower test
Come to think of it, my Azusa (who doesn't run Command Tower either) is also hardly a leader. She looks like a dedicated traveller who likes to take long walks and while she's at it all the Eldrazis, Beasts and Elementals from a deck are running around in amok. " Oh look, that's beatiful waterf...

Bolas's Citadel and cost reduction
Let's assume I have Bolas's Citadel on board and see Obelisk of Urd on top of my library. I also control 4 untapped creatures. How many life do I have to pay to cast Obelisk? Can I apply cost reduction using Convoke or I need to pay 6 life anyway? Wording states "Mana Cost" (though CMC ter...

Re: July 2021 Banlist Announcement
I'm not sure how far card errata procedures can go but if it would be errated by removing the word "instead" it would still be a fine card and a ban would be unnecessary.

Scourge of the Skyclaves
In Commander multiplayer game Scourge of the Skyclaves will have negative values of P/T when it enters the battlefield usually (unless kicked). Am I right these values are the same when Scourge "rots" in graveyard and can account as discount for cards like Nethroi, Apex of Death?

Re: Brokkos, Eat Your Vegetables
If you want nothing but fat then look no futher than Lord of Extinction but there are much better way of giving something trample (Rancor) than using commander to do that. If you insist though then deathtouch creatures like Liliana's Reaver are great beneficiants of trample for casual deck.

Re: Brokkos, Eat Your Vegetables
I think you miss a theme of "eating broccoli" here. Your list is a mixed bag of cards that has nothing to do with Brokkos "broccolization". Eating broccoli should make frail or unhealthy-fat body into healthy, strong 6/6 that can capitalize on its abilities to much greater extend...
