Welcome to the Card Creation League! Everyone is free to participate in either or both of the first two rounds. Come join us!

Theme

It's Blocking Month here at the CCL. The less-appreciated half of combat - let's let it shine.

Challenge

Design four cards: a common, an uncommon, a rare, and a mythic. The words "block," "blocks," "blocking," and/or "blockers" must appear at least eight total times in the rules text of your cards.

• Make sure to include a rarity.

• Final (May, winner determined by public poll)

Please note: For this month we will continue asking first and second round contestants to evaluate seven other contestants during the critique and top 3 period, in order to increase the total number of evaluations each contestant gets.

Up to one target blocked creature gets +2/+0 until end of turn.
Up to one target blocking creature gets -2/-0 until end of turn.
Draw a card.
"Lunge, parry, riposte, skewer!"

Hunter's Bane 2RG
Creature - Beast (U)
Whenever Hunter's Bane blocks or becomes blocked by a creature, Hunter's Bane deals 2 damage to that creature.
1RG: Target creature blocks Hunter's Bane this turn if able.
The hunter stalked his prey through the tall grass, unaware that he was being stalked in turn.

Creature - Zombie Merfolk (R)
As True-Name Tormentor enters the battlefield, choose an opponent that hasn't been chosen by a card named True-Name Tormentor this game. If you can't, exile True-Name Tormentor.
True-Name Tormentor can't block.
True-Name Tormentor be blocked by creatures the chosen player controls.
When True-Name Tormentor dies, return it to the battlefield.

Legendary Planeswalker - Teyo (M)
Whenever a creature you control blocks, put a loyalty counter on Teyo, Planar Guardian.
0: Create a 0/3 white Wall creature token with defender and reach.
-1: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. It gains vigilance until end of turn.
-7: You get an emblem with "Creatures you control have base power and toughness equal to your life total."

Sunbeam token (It's a green enchantment token with, "Sacrifice Sunbeam: Untap target creature or add one mana of any color.)

Creature — Dryad Scout (C)
Whenever Helianth Sentry blocks, create a Sunbeam token.

Kephalotus Eyebright 1BG
Creature — Dryad Shaman (U)
Kephalotus Eyebright has wither as long as it's blocking.
At the beginning of each end step, if Kephalotus Eyebright blocked this turn, create a Sunbeam token for each creature that died this turn.
This far below the canopy, we rarely see the sun. The eyebrights never close their eyes so they won't miss it.

Stalwart Nenuphar 3GU
Creature — Shapeshifter Dryad Warrior (R)
Defender
Sacrifice a Sunbeam: Stalwart Nenuphar becomes a copy of target blocking creature until end of turn. It blocks up to one creature it could block. Activate this ability only if at least one creature is attacking you or a planeswalker you control.

Vigna Seedminder BGU
Legendary Creature — Dryad Cleric (M)
As long as Vigna Seedminder is blocking, whenever a Dryad you control deals damage, you gain 1 life.
Blocking Dryads you control have, "Whenever a source deals damage to this creature, it deals that much damage to that source's controller."
BGU: Each Sunbeam you control becomes a 2/2 black, green, and blue Dryad enchantment creature until end of turn.
