"Unread posts" icon link doesn't line up with the icon

When a topic has unread posts you can click on its icon to visit that topic (not JUST the tiny little blue page icon, wow, that was good to learn). However, the link itself is not actually very well lined up with the topic icon.

I've added a custom style in the screenshot below that shows the issue. The red squares are the actual link. You can see how they can wind up positioned very far away from where they should be over the icon.
