Defensive Volley 1W
Instant (U)
Defensive Volley deals 4 damage to target attacking creature.
Overload
3WW (You may cast this spell for its overload cost. If you do, change its text by replacing all instances of "target" with "each.")
Very nice use of overload out of Izzet, I think we've seen overload in black in the first Modern Horizons but I can't remember it in white. This is very original and printable as is in my opinion. Too bad for the lack of flavor text, it would have fitted for sure on this card.

Warm Welcome 2r
Instant (U)
Warm Welcome deals 3 damage to each creature that entered the battlefield this turn.
"Make sure our visitors are given a proper greeting."
This made me actually laugh, thank you. A
fiery welcome you could say. I'm sure the visitors of this place are treated very well! I wouldn't be one, but it's just me! Seriously, I like this card and I can't say anything bad about it. It's in color, right rarity, and amazing flavor. Good work.

Staggering Loss 2BB
Instant (Uncommon)
Target opponent sacrifices a creature and an enchantment. Staggering Loss deals 2 damage to that player for each permanent fewer than two sacrificed in this way.
I'm not a big fan of "each permanent fewer than two" but the intent is clear. This card is fine. It doesn't excite me, but it's just me, everything's fine here and I can't say anything bad about this either. I would have liked to see some flavor text.

Golem Cat Power Strike
Instant (Uncommon)
Golem Cat Power Strike deals 3 damage to any target. If you control a Golem Cat, this card deals its damage as though it had infect (
This card deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters)
Version X of the Golem Cats have proven to be more hostile to their friends and enemies than previous versions.
My first thought: "is this Ikoria?" I don't think we'd see Golem Cats anywhere but there. The flavor text also makes them sound too modern for my taste. I'm also not a fan of the card name, "Power Strike" feels too excited to me, like if this were taken straight out of a comic or something like that. The effect is fine, I do like that, provided that you can control a Golem Cat in the set. I see this as a good idea but the execution could have probably been better.

Radiant Eruption 5RR
Instant {R}
As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice two basic Mountains.
Choose one -
• Radiant Eruption deals 8 damage to any target.
• Exile the top four cards of your library. Until the end of your next turn, you may play those cards.
This is fine, a big spell with a high mana cost. I'm personally not a huge fan of this kind of cards but they certainly have their place in Magic, and there will be plenty of other Timmies that will be very excited by this card. My own Spike aggro part prevails here and I'd say I like to win before a seven-mana spell becomes relevant. If it does, it's probably the end of the game, but it's what a seven-mana spell should do. But then, if you can deal enough damage to close up the game probably, is impulsive draw relevant if you have already won? I think the first mode will almost always be chosen.

bloodmage's spite
instant — (u)
bloodmage's spite costs
to cast if a creature an opponents control dealt damage to you this turn.
bloodmage's spite deals 3 damage to any target. if a creature dealt damage this way would die this turn, exile it instead.
The card is fine, but there are a lot of quality mistakes, from missing capitalization to extra em dashes. I personally like to see well formatted cards not just in the MCC but everywhere. The card is a twist on
Lightning Bolt, not the first one we've seen in real Magic, and I can't say anything bad about the effect. It's just formatted very badly.

Phantom Spark 1R
Instant (U)
Phantom Spark deals damage to target creature or planeswalker equal to the number of face up instant or sorcery cards you own in exile plus 1.
Flashback
3R
Another fine card. I don't think it will do too much damage on average, but I like the effect. Flashback is not evergreen, so it needs reminder text. I would have liked to see some flavor text.
