Deck Overview
There are links to cEDH decks that I've been looking at with a view to improving my own. So far, I've mostly used them to validate my own thinking. But in time, I will apply some of their tech. There's a section on discussion of card choices which is under construction.
Forthcoming are sections on game play, win conditions, budget and hopefully, other levels of play, from pre-con mods on up.
By the way, this is a modified pre-con; a heavily modified pre-con. If you're attentive, you'll notice some signs of this fact.

Card Choice Discussion
Following is a list of cards which were common to at least three of the cEDH lists I've referenced when I referenced them. These cards could be considered a starting point for a competitive list. These lists can obviously change, so some of this listing may not be up to date.

Notable Omissions
These are cards from the common list that are not currently in my list.

Some of these are just past the threshold of pain and could be added, others are just about out of the question.
- City of Traitors - The ability to power out two-MV rocks is nice.
- Flusterstorm
- Force of Negation
- Force of Will
- Lion's Eye Diamond
- Minamo, School at Water's Edge
- Mox Diamond - One of the best of the mana rocks, the ability to make any color is awesome.
- Otawara, Soaring City
- Sea Gate Restoration // Sea Gate, Reborn
- The One Ring
- Timetwister
- Volcanic Island
- Wheel of Fortune - Wheel of Misfortune is a poor substitute, but the deck arguably wants both!
Cards I have, but haven't decided to add - yet, I'm using these elsewhere.

These are cards I haven't rounded up yet:
- Brain Freeze - This isn't playable without Lion's Eye Diamond.
- Chain of Vapor - Very cheap to cast and very versatile.
- Jeweled Amulet - This has the perfect casting cost and can accelerate our plan if played early.
- Mental Misstep - This can be cast without mana and has a good number of viable targets in cEDH.
- Mountain - I'm on Snow-Covered Mountains.
- Personal Tutor - This card can get Twisted Fealty and is therefore good enough here.
- Thundering Falls - I can't say I dig this but I'm probably wrong. It's fetch-able so perhaps I need it worse than these guys who have Volcanic Island.

These are the cards I play in place of the notable omissions along with my feeble justifications.
Cards common to one or two of the cEDH lists mentioned above
Cards common to one or two of the cEDH lists mentioned above
- An Offer You Can't Refuse - Cheap counter magic.
- Brainstorm - One of the premier cantrips.
- Expedite - This is basically identical to Crimson Wisps. One or the other may well be good enough.
- Red Elemental Blast - This is less susceptible to redirection than Pyroblast, but Pyroblast can be cast without a target if we just need to add one to the spell count for the turn.
- Frantic Search - This spell can filter our hand and increase the spell count essentially for free, provided we can cast it using only lands.
- Cephalid Coliseum - This is a little anti-Thassa's Oracle tech.
- Cyclonic Rift - It's debatable if we should care about getting to the point where we can overload this, but it can happen.
- Exotic Orchard - Will there be and in a cEDH pod? I think it's worth the risk.
- Shivan Reef - A pre-con artifact but quite playable.
- Ral, Storm Conduit - His magecraft ability is a win-condition.
- Dragon's Rage Channeler - She's here for the Surveil, but beats can be useful.
- Claim the Firstborn - This can provide haste for Stella but it can also steal a Drannith Magistrate or a Orcish Bowmasters for a moment to allow us to play. It also just wins if Stella can copy it with Ral, Storm Conduit on board.
- Dispel - Budget counter magic.
- Pongify - Leftovers. But cheap removal isn't the worst thing in the world.
- Counterspell - A budget counter spell.
- Negate - Another budget counter spell.
- Mishra's Bauble - It's free and it cantrips, unfortunately not immediately. It's good for the storm count.
- Arcum's Astrolabe - A whim.
- Cascade Bluffs - A pre-con artifact, but not a terrible card by any means.
- Forbidden Orchard - Rainbow lands are the best lands! We aren't really in the combat business, so the downside isn't hugely significant.
- Gemstone Mine - This is another rainbow land. My list has extra lands compared to the cool kids' list, plus I'm missing Volcanic Island.
- Spire of Industry - Ditto
- Sleight of Hand - A budget cantrip.
- Vandalblast - A pre-con leftover.
- Expressive Iteration - A pre-con leftover.

- Lightning Bolt - Electrostatic Field. Bolt is just solid. In particular, it removes Drannith Magistrate. That's worth the price of admission.
- Shore Up - Third Path Iconoclast Shore Up goes off with Stella for magecraft triggers, but mostly it gives her hexproof.
- Slick Sequence - Young Pyromancer I like Slick Sequence; Stella is featured in the art.
- Twitch - Guttersnipe - Twitch is another spell that just draws the whole deck with Stella's second ability.
- Baral, Chief of Compliance - Haughty Djinn. One less pip for the relevant (?) abillity. The Djinn would probably be better in a more casual deck.
- Fellwar Stone - Overmaster - Overmaster is really just another cantrip. Fellwar is a staple.
- Spellseeker - Veyran, Voice of Duality. Spellseeker is more impactful.
- Dramatic Reversal - Galvanic Iteration. Dramatic Reversal can go infinite with Stella, creating infinite mana if rocks are in place. Even a single cast of Dramatic Reversal can fuel a big turn.
- Cephalid Coliseum -
- Snow-Covered Mountain. This is mostly anti-Thassa's Oracle tech.
- Talisman of Creativity - Jori En, Ruin Diver. I finally found the talisman. Jori is a fine casual card, but he isn't up to speed with what we're trying to do.
- Merchant Scroll - Lock and Load. Lock and Load is cool sounding, but Merchant Scroll actually locks and loads our go-to pieces; Cerulean Wisps, Refocus or Twitch in order of desirability.
- Brainstorm - Radical Idea. Brainstorm is a quality cantrip.
- Borne Upon a Wind - Think Twice. Borne Upon a Wind allows us to win at instant speed. This allows us to pick a spot on an opponents turn or to win on top of interation.
- Tidal Bore - Curse of the Swine. Tidal Bore can untap Stella for no mana. This can allows us to reload and restart a combo on top of interaction.
- Strike It Rich - Cunning Sparkmage. Strike it Rich enables a turn-two Commander or it can be just a free spell to add to the count for Stella.
- Snap - Triton Tactics. Snap is an essentially free spell with some utility.
- Gemstone Mine - Urza's Saga. I've yet to have a game go past turn five. Colored mana is better than the utility here.
- Muddle the Mixture - Chaos Warp. Muddle the Mixture can transmute for key cards including Underworld Breach.
- Spire of Industry - Portent. Until I can add the MDFCs, I'm going to run 26 lands.
- Simian Spirit Guide - Goblin Electromancer - Mana monkey is gas!
- Rite of Flame - Sensei's Divining Top - Rite of Flame is gas, Top is a little slow for what we're trying to do.
- Final Fortune - Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty - Final Fortune is more relevant to our plan.
- Island - Snow-Covered Island - I needed the second snow land elsewhere.
- Defense Grid - Twinflame - Defense Grid is useful protection against interaction. Twinflame had more purpose with the initial list.
- Mindbreak Trap - Baral, Chief of Compliance - More counter magic.
- Miscast - Thunderclap Drake - Still more counter magic.
- Dispel - Slick Sequence - Budget counter magic.
- Daze - Serum Visions - Daze is a popular "free" counter spell.
