No - check the clause on Zirda. That ability can never reduce an amount of mana in a cost to zero.

Yes, just as much as Sanguine Bond does. This is a pretty classic combo.

oh okay. Mainly made this for goofy magic questions, been thinking a lot about Un-Set cards lately, but also wasn't sure if there was a devoted forum for asking questions about mechanics and/or combos.

crazy combo, but would Training Grounds plus Brenard, Ginger Sculptor plus Sam, Loyal Attendant plus Steel Hellkite, with Steel Hellkite being a Food thanks to Brenard, give Steel Hellkite infinite power?

Yes, you can make the Hellkite arbitrarily big (infinite does not exist in magic; you do need to choose an actual value). You can choose to apply Training Grounds cost reduction first to get the ability down to {1} mana and then Sam's ability reduces that {1} to {0}.

Also, I will echo void_nothing's comment above. We have a Rulings forum for things like this. While it is a "crazy combo", it is, at its heart, a Rules question so you are encouraged to create a thread there to get an answer. A lot of us have notifications for that forum specifically and you will generally get a faster answer than here.
