Today's Challenge: Split cards

.::To Enter::.
In a single post:
  • Name exactly two other players to vote for their entries for the previous challenge. (In the event that there are two or fewer entries that you are allowed to vote for, you may vote for only one.)
  • Make a card that fits the current challenge.
  • Include an "If I Win" (IIW) for tomorrow's challenge if you win.
Each day we use the challenge of the previous day's winner. In the case of a tie, we'll use the IIW of the tied player who has least overall points. In case of a further tie, the IIW of the earlier poster will be used.

.::Scoring::.

Too many absolutely great ones, again. Took forever to decide and could have been completely different picks for each 5 minutes I continued to think about it.

For ease of reading:

White Devil WW
Creature — Devil Cleric (R)
Whenever a creature you control dies, you gain life equal to its toughness.
Disturb BBB (You may cast this card from your graveyard transformed for its disturb cost.)

///////

Black Soul
B Enchantment — Aura Curse (R)
Enchant Player
Whenever a creature enchanted player controls would be put into a graveyard from the battlefield, exile it instead. Enchanted player loses life equal to that creature's toughness and draws a card.
If Black Soul would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, exile it instead.

Can I lore here? Imma lore here.

tl;dr — Yup, it's basically what it looks like, feel free to judge the card exlusively mechanically.

Since I read through the Divine Comedy, I've always really wanted a plane based on the Inferno (Rhystic Studies did a spectacular video comparing New Phyrexia to the poem, but I was thinking a touch more litteral- Fire and Brimstone, Demons in every color, that stuff). But the part that left me gob-smacked the most was when Jesus descended into the bowls as the unquestioned master over hell. Growing up with late 20th century media often cribbing notes from Alighieri, I'd assumed that Satan was in charge of hell, but like... of course he wouldn't be! The almighty made this place Lucifer's prison, not his playground. So, in the set I've been tinkering with, this is the guy I've made to capture the dissonance of God as Lord of Heaven and Hell(boundless love and eternal damnation). I REALLY hope I don't offend anyone with this entry, that was super not my intention. I even Photoshopped out all the crosses from the AI generated art just to try and secularize it, but this was meant as an interesting exploration of extra-biblical cannon, not a slight against anyone's beliefs. Anywho...

IIW: Follow this link: https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/god-names.php The 3rd result down is your card name.

Simmering Corpse 1R
Creature — Zombie
Simmering Corpse can't block.
When Simmering Corpse dies, you may have it deal 2 damage to any target.

Half-Cremated Varag
Creature — Goblin Zombie (U)
Haste
If Half-Cremated Varag would die, exile it instead. If you do, you may play it until the end of your next turn unless it had a cremation counter on it. When you cast it this way, it enters the battlefield with a cremation counter on it.
If you think the smell of a living goblin is bad, just you wait until you smell a dead one. Then, if you think that smells absolutely vile, wait until you smell one that is both dead and burning.

Aurkem can't be blocked as long as it's attacking a player with three or fewer cards in their hand.

Destroy/Erase UB

Sorcery (R)

Put target nonartifact creature card from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. It becomes an artifact in addition to its other types.
My previous fuse version with a broken render and more microtext

.
To make reading it easier and because the card render for split cards bugged out:
Edit: That bug is fixed now.

Destroy/Erase BR
Sorcery (R)
Choose one —
• Destroy/Erase deals 2 damage to each non-artifact creature.
• Target creature gets -4/-4 until end of turn.
Entwine—Sacrifice a nontoken artifact. (Choose both if you pay the entwine cost.)
//
Improve UB
Sorcery (R)
Until end of turn, you may cast target nonartifact creature card from any graveyard. For any colored mana in its cost you may pay 2 life instead. If a spell is cast this way, it becomes an artifact in addition to its other types.
//
Fuse (You may cast one or both halves of this card from your hand.)
After creating a card inspired by a song lyric/cover artwork yesterday, I continue in a similar vein. Today with some Meshuggah:
Programmed to appease you/We're symbols of perfection/Humanoids ruined by your laws/Destroy erase improve
Which also lends itself perfectly to a Phyrexia-themed card.

IIW: A card inspired by music (band name, album/song title, lyrics, genre etc.)

Also, if anyone can think of of a user friendly reminder text for monte that would fit on that tiny-ass Fuse line, that would be much appreciated!

Pet Cards: Etali, Primal Storm, Creative Technique
When doubt does stride with iron-laden foot
and chooses take my pride in my own self,
in ragged chains drag I to hell from wealth
and broken, wear’ly slog through ashen soot.
Doubt’s trumpet sounds, that full religious toot
which howls in pompous, mocking, vibrant health
as I run far away, in fear 'f myself,
and chase away the day I end kaput.
But even in the hand of vill’nous doubt,
I know I’ll rise above in victory.
And even when I’m hit with doubter’s clout,
I have no doubt I’ll see that sun-kissed sea.
For even when some faith in me I lack,
I know — in time — I can my doubt attack.
