A 2/2 for B that also takes out an opponent's dude, in a way that generally can't be countered, seems a little much. I can't imagine a world in which this is ever hardcast, but even that version (a black Bear) was no-go territory until recently.

I'm having trouble picking out the right playstyle for this card. It feels like it wants to be in a dedicated mill deck, which usually hews black and blue ... making the manafixing ability less of a concern. Decayed is very much a drawback, so the second ability creates an incentive to not play black, though. And the third ability pushes things back toward black. The toughness boosting is a little old school, Retrace obviously flows into the third ability's cost, but it's easy to overlook.

All in all, it really doesn't feel like a shade, but I appreciate the oldschool Legends shout-out.

Phantom Nishoba but with shield counters? It's got a lot more going for it than the Phantom gang, which makes it feel inevitable. Slow, but inevitable.

Cool token maker; maybe it should make Kaladesh Thopters? While the tokens disappear at the end of turn, they're still viable for Krark-Clan Ironworks, modular/affinity/inspire shenanigans, Aristocrats triggers, and so on.

While the last sentence sounds like it puts a natural limit on the ability ... it doesn't, really. I can activate it for 3, then activate it again .. and again, and again, each time popping out a 3/3. You would need "activate only as a sorcery" or "If Grotesque Facade is in play" for it to actually limit the token generation.

Lower cost? Haste in mono-green still feels a little weird. This is a cool twist on menace! Players might get a little confused with how many triggers get put on with cumulative upkeep (Is it G, then GG, then GGG; or G, then GGG, then GGGGGG?) so reminder text would be appropriate. It ties in nicely with other green/white counter strategies.

OneAndOnly: That's somehow balanced because it requires work if you want it to kill stronger creatures / have greater power. Repeatable fight can be dangerous, but not overpowered. I like Minotaurs in general, also.
AnotherAlias: This seems fair. One can argue that direct damage isn't really a black thing, but it's only a minor issue because that's basically a kill spell for lesser creatures.
KB52665: This FEELS like a Legend card although a bit too complicated but also less powerful than you would like it to be due to monstrous drawback. Can be used as a hate spell against black, most likely.
Subject16: It's a classic hydra. Maybe just a bit too effective. Plus, as a basilisk plus being "virulent", it lacks deathtouch or infect or any other deadly abilities.
shullz: Interesring idea to spam multiple tokens for blocking. Most likely will find a home in decks that want to utilize these tokens through sacrificing and death triggers.
Komandon: Mostly fair but also boring card. Would like to see some flavor text on it,

netn10: I like the name and the flavor works out to a fun card. Not at all broken; it's at that commander power level that attracts a decent fanbase off that name alone.

Raptorchan: This can open up many opportunities for lots of card draw with instants that boost only power or toughness. High risk, high reward card.

OneandOnly: Instant speed fighting is pretty strong, especially for mono red. But the other creature does fight too, so there is a balance achieved.

AnotherAlias: Dang, you really want Orcish Bowmasters gone. This may be a bit strong for modern especially since instant speed is so important.

KB52665: This card does a lot and is pretty complicated. It takes multiple readings to understand the power of the creature, but retrace is a favorite ability of mine.

Virulent Krasis: Not too much unique about the hydra other than the "hit planeswalker" text. Standard fun, X matters hydra. Hydras are cool though.

Flying

2/2
This card combines the flying Pegasus with Unicorns which often have life gain synergies and abilities that give +1/+1, be it temporarily or as counter. Seems fitting and it's weird it hasn't been done before. I guess WotC are purists when it comes to crossbreeding horses.

This feels more like a red card. Having a creature that improves with its upkeep is cool, but the wording here feels weird. I guess you mean to have the creature get kind of a growing amount of menace? Which going by the menace reminder text would be something like: This creature can't be blocked except by a number of creatures equal or more than the counters on this creature. Which is a really fresh idea for an ability.

The name is ominous and the ability gives the classic Islandhome mechanic a new dark twist. Though it may be hard playing more Swamps than Islands in a sea monster-themed deck. Nothing Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth can't solve, I guess. I have a hard time imagining a sea serpent rearing its head out of a puddle, but maybe tonight's nightmares will help with that.

Hurloon Skullspeaker b{b/r}r
Creature — Minotaur (R)
Menace
Whenever Hurloon Skullspeaker or another Minotaur enters the battlefield under your control, you draw cards and lose life equal to the difference between its power and toughness.
2/3
It's not a general characteristic of Minotaurs to have higher Toughness than Power, so it would need some very specific build-around to get the maximum out of that effect, but getting an extra card draw for this card is already not bad. It's a nice throwback to the classic Hurloon Minotaur, which doesn't give you more to work with than its power and toughness, so you squeezed the maximum out of that card.

2/3
The card feels fresh and improves on the old Hurloon, giving the underpowered classic a way to rise to today's standards with a powerful ability. The card would probably have to be digital-only, because of the permanence of the change in Power and Toughness.

Direct damage feels more red than black, but has been done in black before. I really like the ability. It's very flavourful, but it could probably be slightly more expensive for it being able to give you an additional creature and direct damage not being a usual part of black's color identity.

🤔. Being green makes this overpowered IMO. Due to the abundance of adding counters on it. Especially +1/+1. Could see it as red to make it more fair. Plus the name seems more red.
