December CCL - Final Poll

It's now time to vote for the winner of the December CCL! If you are seeing this, please view the entries, decide your favorite by any criteria you choose, and vote. Even if you've never participated in the CCL before, your vote is welcome.

As a reminder, the challenge is as follows:

Design three new cards for existing legendary permanent cards, representing the person, place, or object shortly before their death or destruction. Your cards may not share any card types.

Blackblade Remnants enters the battlefield with four +1/+1 counters on it.
T: Move a counter from Remnants of the Blackblade onto target creature.

Gideon's death was not in vain. Transferring Liliana'a contract to himself ,she was free. With the help of Oketra, Bontu and Niv-Mizzet to finally defeat the Dragon God and remove his spark.

Whenever a legendary creature or planeswalker you control dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Kytheon's Irregulars.

1, T: Surveil 2. If you put an Angel card into your graveyard this way, create a Treasure token. If you put a Demon card into your graveyard this way, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.
When The Shattering Helvault is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, you may pay 7 and/or 7 life. If you paid 7, create Avacyn Freed, a legendary 5/5 white Angel creature token with flying, hexproof, and indestructible. If you paid 7 life, create Griselbrand Freed, a legendary 5/5 black Demon creature token with flying, trample, and haste.

When Toggo, Defiant Rockthrower dies during combat, you may pay X. When you do, put any number of Equipment cards with mana value X or less from your hand or graveyard onto the battlefield and Toggo deals 2 damage to each of up to X targets.

Homura's Final Message 1RR

When Homura's Final Message enters the battlefield while you control three or more Humans, creatures you control get +2/+0 and gain trample until end of turn. Otherwise, creatures you control get +1/+0 until end of turn.
Whenever one or more creatures you control deals combat damage to a player, create a 1/1 red Human creature token, then exile the top card of your library. You may play that card this turn.

Komandon - Remanants of the Blackblade looks very weak. only able to move one counter per turn, this is not a good rate for 4 mana. 2 mana and sarificing a land is also not efficient just to get one counter back. The flavor text however makes sense. Curse of Rapid Aging, this is a pretty efficient hoser card and a nice simple curse design. However being simple makes it a bit boring lol. Kytheon's Irregulars, the name Kytheon's Irregulars is already taken, but this is the most interesting card. 1 counter per death does not seem like muchm, but since this card can give it self double strike and vigilance, it is actually a lot more value. I think it would lead to interesting deck building.

MonoRedMage - The Shattering Helvault is super wordy but I like how it can build up to what you need to pay the costs, and making an Avacyn and Griselbrand token at the same time is super cool. This card still could have been trimmed down as it is wordy and complex. Toggo, Defiant Rockthrower, I would be sad to see Toggo canonically die, however the ability is a really cool new take on a red equipment commander and provoke makes sense for a character based on Onslaught block. Homura's Final Message, monored humans would be an interesting deck to encourage and Homura, Human Ascendant // Homura's Essence is a nice choice but this is a value engine that might be too strong, giving you an extra card and a token every turn along with an ETB that can also be very strong.

Ultimately, for more interesting ideas and picking more challenging legends, I voted for monoredmage.
