it's been awhile, since I played my pioneer cat deck. Need to be refreshed on this.
for example, on game 1. I reveal Kaheera, the Orphanguard from sideboard. Pay 3 to add it to hand. Play it. It get's killed, and put into yard.
now for game 2, does it go back to the sideboard.. then I can pay 3 to reveal it again, so it goes to hand for game 2?

Yes, companions go back to the sideboard between games. You can leave it in / transfer it to the maindeck if you want to, but make sure you comply with any deck size requirements as appropriate.
