Something is a little messed up with images and quotes

Given a sufficiently wide viewport on this page, bad stuff happens. I'm merely a humble science wizard but I don't believe images and quotes should ever be able to just do that.
it's really the way they're doing it with a large floating block.
I guess I could force a min-width on all quotes, so it'd force it to wrap when it would otherwise be small?
Let's try that at about 100px and hope it doesn't mess up what someone else is doing
