I just want to be able to draw cards when I have an empty board. And sometimes you want to dig for an answer and you aren't blanking removal. You are just tossing your dude.
You are looking at these effects when they are at their best. I just want more reliable card draw.

Should we perhaps just fast track them? There wasn't any particular protest when they came up earlier.

Yay on Breeches.
Yay on the 'parental figures' suite, although I am not sure that we want all three.

I think 3 is a good amount tbh. And maybe 2-3 more 1-drops (like the haste enablers) and we can be happy that whatever we do turn one will impact the whole game.

Some data in, confirming two cards, and I'm gonna make an executive decision to confirm deadly dispute to clear up the docket. Fresh docket, continuing on, we'll put @gsgfdf and @aliciaofthevast on the clock today.

Deadly Dispute yay - 2 nay - 2
Breeches, Eager Pillager yay - 3 nay - 0
Mother of Runes/Giver of Runes/Skrelv, Defector Mite yay - 4 nay - 0

I'd imagine Goblin Motivator and Bloodlust Inciter would be the go to cards then to round out the one drop suite. Haste is important for a deck that doesn't do anything if it can't attack.

...Aaaannndddd now I want to see Ranger of Eos make the cut.

Uhm. Fresh slate huh? Okayyyy. Well what about that Goblin Motivator then? There's something extra motivating about a goblin giving us the pep talk I think 👀🤔

Yay on Goblin Motivator. Haste is the best keyword in Commander.
For my turn I want to nominate Decadent Dragon // Expensive Taste. We could use the CA and the creature side can provide some value down the line.

yay motivator
Yay Decadent Dragon. By a hair for me though. Maybe we have enough treasure being spread around to have a small subtheme.

I hadn't seen chivalric alliance before, it's kinda like Duelist's Heritage. But better I think, in the context of this deck. I'd yay that and the dragon which was on my shortlist. I also went ahead and included Bloodlust Inciter since it's literally the same card barring typeline and if we want one, it stands to reason we want the other one.

With enough easy mode treasure production, when does Revel in Riches make sense, and would we want it in the first place? Does Professional Face-Breaker/Grim Hireling also work; Isshin won't double proc them, but we want to get into the red zone a lot anyway, and if that is what we want then do we want ancient-copper-dragon-at-home as well? Or are these getting away from what we're doing?

On the clock today, we'll put myself and @Dunharrow. And since we have no tutours, I'm nominating the freshly reprinted Diabolic Intent, while it can be had for just ~$6.

Goblin Motivator/Bloodlust Inciter yay - 3 nay - 0
Decadent Dragon yay - 3 nay - 0

Chivalric Alliance yay - 2 nay - 0
Diabolic Intent yay - 0 nay - 0

Hi guys, I myself own an Isshin deck and have been trying to crack it for as long as he's been out and I've gone through many different iterations to arrive at my current version and I am absolutely loving this community decklist game. It definitely gave me tons of insight on certain card picks I may have overlooked as well as ones I have included in my own deck but aren't being discussed here.

From my experience with the commander in my relatively medium-high power level playgroup, our samurai is at his best when played along other "kings/queens", meaning other creatures that themselves need to be answered and whose attack triggers are good enough on their own that it warrants playing the card without having Isshin out. Forcing our opponents to have to choose between hitting the payoff or the enabler feels great.

I've experimented with tons and tons of different creatures and attack triggers and do agree that hitting your haste enablers consistently is key and is important enough to warrant lots of redundancy.

If I'm allowed to, I'd like to say yay to Chivalric Alliance.

I would yay intent knowing that if I made this deck I would be demonic tutor lol.

I want to nominate Selfless Spirit. it can attack to trigger some of the other cards in the deck. It protects our dudes. Seems decent to me?

Before I confirm/deny on Selfless Spirit, can we have a discussion on it versus Jirina, Dauntless General? Sure there's "typal" considerations (though Isshin is a human at least) and having an etb Bojuka Bog is much better than a random Goblin Piker with flying. I think that's worth some consideration.

Just a note there is just four copies of removal cards in the deck plus some situational hope you untap creatures that might remove something else. Maybe the last slots should be split between that and universal draw. Let's put @toctheyounger and @Moxnix on the clock.

Chivalric Alliance yay - 3 nay - 0
Diabolic Intent yay - 3 nay - 0

Selfless Spirit yay - 2 nay - 0

I mean, we have things that trigger whenever a creature attacks, so flying is pretty relevant.
Jirina is cool, and I never saw the card before, but we are far from having enough humans for me to prefer it over selfless spirit.

Ill nominate Winds of Abandon. One sided wrath effect to end a game or spot removal in the opening hand.

I like spirit and Flawless maneuver better than the cool human too.
