So you can guarantee yourself a card if you pay a premium of 3 gold.

Dignified Lamasu is pretty close to a bomb in the format, so it looks worth three gold to me. I'm not going to say where I put my bids though.

Everyone's bids in?
Psst, check the second page of Custom Card Contests & Games! Because of the daily contests, a lot of games fall down to there.

Well, the weekdays are usually slower than the weekend. I'm setting the deadline for Sunday. I think I may default a bid of "1 gold for each card" if you miss a bidding stage, it may be better to catch up later.
We are at 7/10 bids ready. I haven't received yours void, did you send it?

Then the other two may be in the same situation. I'll send reminders at lunch.

Both players remaining thought they had submitted their bids. So now I will respond with "Ok" when I receive your cards/bids, so you know you are good to go. If I seem to be taking too long to "Ok", inquire.

+2 Gold Reward Winners:
None. Only three people got more bids than Shock, and two of them tied for second place.

Game adjustments:
+2 gold reward increased to +3 gold.
Now you only have to tie with the Floor card to get the reward.
If more than 2 players would get the high bid penalty because of ties, all of the high bids get +1 gold instead of 0 gold.

Now power up those cards for next round! (Discussion of the results of round 1 is A-ok.)

Round 2 challenge: Design something that deals damage twice (either in a turn, each turn, or overall.)
Floor Card: Giant Spider.

Well everything except Veiled Ursa and Landscaping sold at full price. I expected to pick up a few stray cards with my 1 gold bids, but perhaps that's not as easy as I thought.

Maybe people were just more willing to pay a premium in the first round, since we all had full pockets.

Giant Spider is not as universally useful as Shock, so I think some people will actually make a bit of money this time.

Agreed. I'm confident I can make something to hit the bonus this time.

Seems like soulflare accidentally ended up in the wrong column, since wizyard shouldn't be getting his own card -- void was the one who bid on it.

Indeed, it was a problem with the table. Fixed by by adding an empty cell.

Okay, i feel like we are doing a really weird and cool kind of Bet Draft.

What should we call it?
Market Draft

But with custom cards.

Sad Dusk is sad.....

Guess I played it too safe in the betting round. Was honestly worried about making sure I had gold for the later rounds

Edit: one thing I just thought of. Do we get a copy of the card's we create, since we can't bet on them? Or are they cards we get to make but never get to use?

Oh dang, I never even thought about that, I assumed it would be in our pool to use.
we could import these into clients to play, I personally use Tabletop Simulator, but could play on cockatrice with any of you.
Also i've been working on a rudimentary mtgdesigner for Tabletop Simulator so you can make cards on the fly and errata them while you play.

Based on a question I asked earlier, the only way to gain gold is to beat (and now tie) the floor card in bets (meaning the gain column for right now is set to zero for all players).

There's something funny happening with PMs. I had "sent" the message as soon as I got the reminder, and I "sent" it again half an hour ago. I checked again some.minutes ago and no PM had gone out. I reckon voidnothing had an "I could have sworn I sent it" situation for last submission.

Now it's done. I don't know why it worked. I previewed the PM on last attempt but I don't know if that counts.

Since it would seem my question was missed, I'll ask again.
It is not 100% clear, but do we we get to include the cards we make in deck building, or are they cards only for the other's to bid on and use?

Follow up regarding deck building: When deck building, do we only get a single copy of each card we get, or can it playset? I understand the rule about not share cards between the two decks you make, but want to know specifically for one deck.

You design cards only to sell the other players, which is an additional incentive to make their power low.
For now, think of only a single card. If we feel like ending the game sooner, or just for deck consistency, I may do 2x of each card (which would be ok to split among the two decks.) Again, your input will be taken into account, regarding the game's length.

Perfect. That's more or less what I thought but wanted to make sure before we got to deckbuilding
