Hey does anyone remember when Eldraine spoilers were supposed to start next week or tomorrow at the latest? Me either.

Food seems underwhelming. Hopefully there are more cards that can interact with food

Just because someone must say it: Golden Egg is pretty good in eggs' deck.

Food tokens confirmed as "true rubbish".

So...there must be some kind of lifegain theme to justify these food tokens. Side note, I demand errata to Feast of the Unicorn to make it a food aura.

Well, it's an awkward bird of paradise. More toughness, more conditional mana.

Gilded Goose looks like the closest we'll get to a Birds of Paradise reprint. Seems reasonable. Weaker overall than BoP due to not being able to tap for mana repeatedly without assistance, but repeatable lifegain from sacrificing Food makes it a better topdeck.

Golden Egg looks underwhelming. Might be playable as fixing in limited, but I suspect its primary purpose would be to enable Food synergies.

Nontoken Foods might make the Food theme very interesting.
Psst, check the second page of Custom Card Contests & Games! Because of the daily contests, a lot of games fall down to there.

at first I wasn't impressed with the token food but then I thought that the nontoken food could be cool

I like food tokens, because more noncreature tokens make populates interesting.

I like food (no pun intended), seriously, I think the idea is making life gain more accessible against aggro decks. If there are other ways to use food that will be interesting but I have a lot of respect for its natural utility. Perhaps it could have been gain 3 life and scry 1 or something, that would have made it a lot more appealing.

Golden egg is gonna be a straight swap for Urban Utopia in my deck.

Only if you ignore the rules associated with populate.

Dammit. I forgot it was only creature tokens. Oh, well. >.<
