Welcome to the Card Creation League! Everyone is free to participate in either or both of the first two rounds. Come join us!

Theme

It's Blocking Month here at the CCL. The less-appreciated half of combat - let's let it shine.

Challenge

Design an Aura card with enchant creature with defender or enchant Wall, or an instant or sorcery card with "target creature with defender" or "target Wall" in its text.

• Top 8 — Open to top 8 finishers (April 19th–22nd)

• Final (May, winner determined by public poll)

Please note: For this month we will continue asking first and second round contestants to evaluate seven other contestants during the critique and top 3 period, in order to increase the total number of evaluations each contestant gets.

RaikouRaider - This is a quite niche but pretty reasonable card. It replaces itself and makes your wall eat a removal if necessary. A creature-based toughness-hitting lord like Doran or Arcades would be glad,

slimytrout - Well, this is something quite similar to what I was submitting until I saw your post. Toughness matters is fit in green and the combination of effects allows this card to stand alone.

Monoredmage- Allowing walls to block doesn't feel very red and I am.not sure where this would be played because there's not extra suppornt within red.

barbercube: Well, this is a card that benefits spells more likely to appear in limited, like sorcery-speed buffs and removal. That said, this should belong to a set where incidental defenders could ba happening (I'm thinking on The Birth of Meletis). The fact that it replaces itself is important,.too.

netn10- While the fact that all options focus on the same thing (connecting) is kind of contradictorybwith modal spells. I like what you did with flavor here.

kwanyegoe: Goatnapper vibes, a nice changeling tribal card. +3/+3 is a sizeable plus for 1 mana, and the ability to further enhance can be very powerful.

Hmm all of these effects are evasion. Not much variance to the modes. pretty flavorful

It took several minutes to understand this caed. But now I do understand it, this effect looks good. should probably also work for Auras

nice abilities and giving cycling was a good idea but this is technically green or white, not red

Oh i love this. Pretty much the perfect post for this challenge. good multiuse card

This one is just an effective card. it allows the defender to also "block" spells. But its pretty wordy

Can't say I like this at all. Just gunking up the board by making a blocker into a better blocker that gains you life? No thanks for that play pattern.

I can't make sense of this flavor and I can't support the use of AFR style anything.

The fact that you can't use Redecorate to de-wall a wall is rather a bummer.

Too strong on changelings, too turtle-y on defense, so the only place this really seems fun is in an Arcades, the Strategist deck.

One extremely narrow mode, one fairly narrow mode, and one moderately narrow mode still adds up to a pretty underpowered card.
