Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

I decided that my list wanted more explosive ramp cards, so I tried a Dockside Extortionist . I know I am far from original, but lets just say that a new world opened for me. Apart from the obvious value the card has by itself, there is a lot of synergy with many other pieces in the deck. Copiable w...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Would you mind sharing your Phelddagrif list? I'm always looking for more puzzleboxes https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5131559#paper Correct me if I'm wrong, but I only found >4-card winning combos with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , Pandemonium , and Share the Spoils . None of the other creatures or ...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

I've been looking for an alternative to Pandemonium, because it usually sits in my hand unless I have the rest of a combo... First thing that comes to mind is Warstorm Surge for avoiding the symmetry of Pandemonium . I personally use Terror of the Peaks . It has the added bonus of being much easier...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

I don't see any more efficient 4 card complete combos immediately. I do see other synergies to build on though. Both Planar Guide and Chance for Glory synergize with effects that either counter a trigger or end the turn. You can Stifle half of Wormfang Manta , or you can Wormfang Manta half of Chan...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

A bunch of older cards came into my pocession and I am thinking about some interactions and combos that could suit Zedruu. F.e. I am trying to use Planar Guide (a very unique ability, also I have a very cool foil one) in some kind of 4-card combo and, after not being able to think about any interact...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Things I'm half eying up are Krark, Fblthp, Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice , and Rootha, Mercurial Artist . I can also go back to Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage as a flash enabler. But now I'm looking at The Reality Chip , because I "you can look at the top card of your library" is one of my favor...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

My hesitancy here is that it isn't only Swans of Bryn Argoll that make it go nuts. Even just an Izzet Boilerworks gets you to game ending mode. We can imagine a scenario where it's turn 6, I have just Izzet Boilerworks , 4 other lands, Zedruu the Greathearted and Nin, the Pain Artist in play, and I...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Weakness I'd like to address but have no solid plans: - Relic of Legends is definitely in, as it adds redundancy for infinite flicker combos that I've always wanted but never had a good alternative to Pandemonium / Warstorm Surge . Having that with a floor of being a manalith, and a most common sit...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Rules question: I have a Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker in play and I play a Gilded Drake . With the Drake etb trigger on the stack, I copy the Drake with Kiki. The etb trigger of the copy triggers and I exchange the copy with one of my opponents' creatures. Then the original Drake etb resolves and I exc...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Personally, onced I got MoM, I never went back. The fact that I can't use Strionic Resonator hurts, but I got over it eventually. MoM is by far the most powerful card one could add in the deck, BUT it also makes the deck somewhat...... too much turbocharged. My playgroup knows that and, when I draw ...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Disagree! Playing all the instants is a big deal, especially since it's very in our control. Possibility Storm casting is a may, leaving the option to put the instant back in the deck, and every cast out the other side triggers Displacer Kitten into Venser, Shaper Savant if we want the card back in...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Ok, so... I was thinking about Displacer Kitten . Just thinking, haven't even sleaved the card yet, cause I like to theorize... and I sold myself on it. I mean obviously due credit to @Sefir, but I discovered something exceptionally stupid that Sefir's chaos-free list isn't going to stumble into: P...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

Drafna, Founder of Lat-Nam could be a card with potential here! Not in lists that run both Coveted Jewel and MoM for obvious reasons, but in every other list, there are many artifacts that we can get advantage by bouncing and/or copying. And I am not talking just for etb triggers a la Precursor Gol...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

It would be very interesting if all we Zedruu players posted our recent lists for comparison, reference, ideas, etc. EDIT: This is mine. Almost all stealing/exchange and chaos stuff are gone. I play A LOT through spelltable and exchanging permanents on camera is a pain. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/d...

Re: 30+ Creature Type Changeling Tribal

How are you guys on removal/interaction? How many and wich ones do you run? I don't wanna run staple removal or countermagic in this deck. I personally run countermagic in the deck, but always in the form of tribal. Spellstutter Sprite , Patron Wizard , Wizard's Retort , Silumgar's Scorn . My targe...

Re: Omenkeel, LOL I'm a Boat

I was playing Boat the other day and I couldn't figure out a good Expedition Map chain. Sure, fetch Academy Ruins to keep recycling it but I don't know about what after that. The issue is I felt like I was leaving something on the table if I wasn't putting my opponent's lands into play. I personall...

Re: Omenkeel, LOL I'm a Boat

tbh, a Phyrexian Dreadnought came in my possession and I try to see if I can make it fit in the deck. I am thinking of various shenanigans in response to the etb trigger like exchanging something for it with Daring Thief and then copy it with Imposter Mech , Reality Shift my own stuff if I know the ...

Re: Elas and Lurrus - Best couple or Not a good idea? - Help wanted

With Lurrus always available, Mesmeric Orb can also work as a pseudo-CA card, while making cards like Bloodchief Ascension even more deadly.

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time

After a lot of playtesting with Displacer Kitten , I have to say that I am in love with the card to the point I consider it a staple in my list. Works as pseudo-protection vs spot removal, has excellent synergy with any etb/haste effect ( Cavalier of Dawn , Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , Precursor Gole...

Re: 30+ Creature Type Changeling Tribal

I will not run Be'lakor, the Dark Master since, apart from Dragon Tempest , I also run Scourge of Valkas as my main finisher and I consider both vastly superior (and I also try to avoid 40K cards if possible, but this is another story entirely). I removed Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes . The card ...

Re: 30+ Creature Type Changeling Tribal

Any you guys running any Merfolks? Tuktuk Scrapper was the only goblin in my list. I might swap back over to Seahunter from Moggcatcher [/card] for mana reasons. I still run Merrow Reejerey and Sea Gate Loremaster . Both powerful, both fetchable with Seahunter. That said, I also run the full trio o...

Re: 30+ Creature Type Changeling Tribal

Might swapping Dragon Tempest with the new Be'lakor, the Dark Master be a good choice? Haste is nice though and card draw might be covered by Grolnok and co. but this dude looks pretty sick. Not sure how we feel about to 40K cards but there isn't too much amazing other tribal support in it afaics. ...

Re: The Anti-Deck (commander currently undecided)

DirkGently you inspired me into re-building my Mathas deck into a similar concept and I thank you for that. Here is the list. Still untested, so I am not sure if it will work in a different manner than yours (more card draw and less ramp I suppose?), but I would love to hear any reccommendations yo...
