Re: [Deck] Jeskai Control
Against Shadow Clique is a beast, especially vs blue variants - where you can strip Stubborn Denial out of their hand. It's EOT 'i'm making three damage to you every turn and I play a Snap-Bolt deck, Mind your own business'. I highly suggest you to try it more in the matchup. I can say, from both si...

Re: [Deck] Jeskai Control
Strong against Tron, Eldrazi Tron, UW Control, Jund (hit any walker for three EOT), Mardu Shadow, Grixis Urza.
When it's bad, it still acts as a pseudo discard spell with flash, and in g2 you cut it.
Again, I think it's the best singleton in the deck,

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
In testing it didn't seem bad... just, not better than regular Storm. And Storm is Tier 5 right now.
But it was a very limited testing session, it didn't pique my interest.

All of that said. Please unban Stoneforge and let me lose in Modern with my favourite Legacy deck.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: [Primer] Esper Draw-Go Control
True, but it's quite the opposite: Charm is an istant draw spell that ALSO does additional things.Simply having another counter that can also draw in a pinch is great, but dealing with 1 CMC permanents is surprisingly relevant in some of the deck's harder matchups

Re: [Primer] Esper Draw-Go Control
I may step a little bit off topic, but I'm 100% on Archmage's Charm wagon in UW. I do think too many people aren't considering what it does for the deck. My current UW list is: Lands (21) 4 Glacial Fortress 4 Flooded Strand 3 Polluted Delta 2 Hallowed Fountain 7 Island 1 Plains Cantrips (8) 4 Opt 4 ...

Clique has always felt the best singleton you can run in any Jeskai Flash/Control variant.

Pretty sure that:
a) Stoneforge argument is non-profit related.
b) UW in its current iteration doesn't want Stoneforge.
c) Esper Blade would be a very decent deck in Modern.

Re: [Deck] Izzet Phoenix
The more Crackling Drake and Saheeli you play in the 75, the better chance you have in the matchup. On a perception level I find it around 45-55 overall, but then my results seems to indicate it's more of a 50-50 mu. For istance, if you were to play in a metagame heavily skewed towards Midrange, I w...

Imho Surgical - in these configurations - can easily be a side out also against G-Tron. They're still useful at dealing with multiples (both Karns) but, for the rest, Force of Negation + Cryptic + postboard counterspells take care of most threats. Surgical is a liability also against Relic.

Re: [deck] BWx Shadow
Honestly, being a turn two play that can die from removal, four copies are the perfect fit. You can also discard duplicates, if you have another in hand. But most of the time I tend to transform it, flashback a spell, play another, wait until I can flashback a second spell + transform the second Jac...

@ktkenshinx, the fact that wizards said in their announcements that 1) twin reduced Diversity among blue decks 2) twin was suppressing other archetypes All remain there. You can argue all you want with it. Wizards said so in their announcement. Wizards had access to full modo data that you and me d...

Re: [deck] BWx Shadow
The point is simple. In Mardu, unlike Grixis or Esper, you can't rely on Stubborn Denial , which means that you're softer to spells that actually kills you. Sculler is another form of interaction that, even when the opponent actually have no cards in hand, unlike a cc1 discard is a critter. It beats...

Pretty much. The only viable 'tokens' strategy in the format is Mardu Pyromancer (Young Peezy + Seasoned Pyromancer + Lingering Souls), which is already not in a good spot right now,

Re: [Deck] Pitch Blue / Narset Control
IMHO the problem with this lists is... the list itself. The deck should play a Blue Control game that enables blowout, not being a bad deck that sometimes do cool things. Lands (20) 4 Polluted Delta 3 Flooded Strand 2 Watery Grave 4 Drowned Catacombs 1 Swamp 6 Island Creatures (8) 4 Snapcaster Mage ...

Re: [deck] BWx Shadow
as a returning player I have not seen this deck before, but it looks very fun. what it have any very bad matchups? Generally speaking, the most difficult matchups are go-wide strategies and graveyard based. Which means, between the viable decks, that you have a 40-45% chance against Dredge, Hogaak,...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
Imho too many people (especially here) are too conditioned by their own beliefs. I was a Twin player. I don't think Twin ban was deserved (and I already stated several times why). I believe it won't be a top Tier in Modern right now (again, already explained the reasons). That said, it DID limit div...

It feels so stupid talking about this matter every two days, but whatever. I grow tired of Phoenix. I play approximately ten different archetypes in Modern. I play two copies of Winds in my UW list (4 Path, 1 Oust, 2 Winds, 2 Verdict). But the main reason to stay in Esper is Push, which is faster and more efficient with Snap.

Re: [Primer] Esper Draw-Go Control
No Unearth cause the deck is a Control at its core. Esper Mentor - as the deck is usually classified - is a Midrange that uses multiple discards to deploy a Mentor and tries to keep it alive, or unearth it. Here, you play the Control game until you have a Mentor and few spells to chain in hand to ma...

That's what I was saying, just run straight UW if you're interested in this kind of approach. I do value sb discard spells in conjunction with Mentor, and also believe that more spot removals are better in this shell.
