Polymorphist's Jest seems like a good card for this deck

Re: New Grixis Commander Legend - All good things must come to an END
Wouldn't underworld breach exile at the end step of the next player: "At the beginning of the end step, sacrifice Underworld Breach." Wouldn't this trigger at every end step? Either way, Obeka looks like a special commander, i'm interested how it will play. Yes that's what I allude to. Ma...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
So how are we all feeling about those Commander Legends precon options? Nice to see Tatyova got her much needed facelift right? EDIT: Just realised they aren't on here yet, so here you go: Boros Wyleth, Soul of Steel (1RW) Legendary Creature- Human Warrior Trample Whenever ~ attacks, draw a card fo...

Re: Mono-Black Control in EDH
Yeah, that's typically what I used to do when playing mono-black (except for the infinite combo part). I just have to pay attention to my curve here, since the decks I usually tend to build are likely too slow for the decks that will be facing against this one. Yeah, Chainer is more of an 8 cmc end...

Re: Best starter box for the Commander Challenge?
I've thought about this too, I finished at these 3 sets: Dominaria: 43! legendary creatures with some very strong uncommon ones in tatyova and slimefoot, which you are almost guaranteed to get. Ikoria: 22 Legendary creatures, multicolor and alot of fixing. This might just be the best color period, t...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Evra, Halcyon Witness
Never used this card except in limited, seems sketchy. I don't know anyone who plays it, but using Sudden Spoiling on it or taking you opponents life with Word of Seizing seems hilarious.

Re: Bruna, the Fading Light - Mono-W Moat Control
Played my first game with bruna yesterday (damn virus) and I had a blast, the recursion is pretty strong, I bounced back from 3 consecutive boardwipes and was out-ramping the green deck at some point. Land Tax opener was ok, but I started so it only got online when i dropped Lotus Field . Emeria She...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I'm gonna reach out to my group and see if i can print this alter out and slide it on top of a common in a sleeve and call it good I love the idea of this being an Odric card, but I prefer this version.odric3.png Particularly the flavor text. This whole TWD Secret Lair debacle has changed my mind a...

Re: What bothers you most about the Walking Dead commanders?
Are these cards canon now? I always figured all black bordered cards to be existing somewhere in the magic universe and this would mean there is an actual twd universe plane where jace and friends can planeswalk to. They have done that before ofc with the p3k set where they go back to the three king...

Re: Cards that are surprisingly effective
I guess it might not be a huge surprise, but Rankle, Master of Pranks has been great in the 99 for me. I've found him a really good political tool that can smooth things out nicely for you. Draw per turn is great, he can put stuff in the yard for you to recur and edicts too. He can be griefy, but i...

Re: your fave cards from official Commander releases
Favorites: Toxic Deluge : One of my favorite boardwipes, ever since I used it to kill of an Avacyn, Angel of Hope the turn before he was going to Armageddon I've never doubted it's potency. Myriad Landscape : Great ramp for mono colored decks. Duelist's Heritage : Fun political card. Loyal Apprentic...

Re: Topical Discussion of the Official Multiplayer Ban List
I don't think they should ban them, the cards aren't broken, they actually seem kinda fun to build around. The RC should just focus on game breaking cards. Still dissapointed about wotc printing exclusives in secret lairs, but in the end they'll do what they want. Even if these were skins akin to th...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
Is anyone else playing any limited, and if so, how are seeing Party work out? I have done probably about 10 sealed pools now, using prerelease packs, and today was the first time I was able to assemble a full party (black/blue) and only the second time I have seen anyone pull it off. Btw, Canyon Je...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
On the cards, I'm not a fan of the art, I agree with the other ppl who think they should have used the comic book drawings, but I suppose this is a collaboration with AMC and not Robert Kirkman. Mechanics: I would have tried out the Negan card in my Queen Marchesa deck. It's a good way to kill just ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
what stops wotc to institute their own RC and own banlist The same thing that's kept the banlist in the hands of the RC so far. I doubt WotC would throw a hissy fit over an experimental product getting noped by the governing body of its biggest casual format. They might get in to a pissing contest ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I kind of see the reasoning in a potential ban by the RC, but I feel that would cause a rift between them and WotC, and the consequences therein could be...well I don't even want to think about it. I feel the same way, the RC can ban them, but what stops wotc to institute their own RC and own banli...

I've played this quite a bit in my aggro Queen Marchesa deck and it's fine, mostly as a ramp spell tbh.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Curse of Bounty
Played it in a Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca deck as another way to untap all my merfolk. Did some work, wasn't the best one of those effects, but it was an extra one.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Shard Convergence
seems nice, but Skyshroud Claim , Farseek and Nature's Lore all put those lands onto the battlefield, which is why i'd play those and not this. Most of the time you'll be able to fix your mana with basics gotten via Kodama's Reach , Cultivate , Explosive Vegetation , or gates with Circuitous Route ....

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Brutal Hordechief
I have this card but I've always overlooked it. Reading these oppinions, I've decided i'll give it a shot in my Queen Marchesa deck. It's an aggro build to begin with, running Ankle Shanker and Odric, Lunarch Marshal to give my team deathtouch. Combined with the Brutal Hordechief , it would be even ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Silent Sentinel
Con's; - It's an attack trigger, which makes it harder to trigger. - It doesn't have haste, so it needs to survive a turn before it becomes active. - If you have a really good enchantment in the bin, this will have a target on it's head. If not, who really cares what it does. - 7 cmc Pro's: - Enchan...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Hostage Taker
Great card! It's versatile, targetting the two most played non-land permanents. It gives incentive for interactive play or else that creature/artifact is mine. It's on a body, so it can be reused easily. It's a big flavor win, taking hostage, stockholm syndrome. On of my favourite cards of the last ...
