[SCD] Karn, Scion of Urza

Have anyone here any experience playing with [Karn, Scion of Urza]? I'm considering him for my mono-brown deck, which could always use more ways to draw cards. My main concern is that you will always end up with the worse card in hand and have to wait a turn to get the other card in hand. He's also ...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

If you want to go old school, you could do Ifh-Bíff Efreet instead of Squallmonger . Only minus is that it kills itself, but you can always put a Darksteel Plate on it :) What I like better about the hurricanes on sticks is that they are repeatable. My jam is Awakening and Seedborn Muse , which can ...

Re: Style Biter's Breakfast - Volrath, the Shapestealer

Other options for +1/+1 counters on lands is Guildmages' Forum , but that is even more limited. You also have Llanowar Reborn . Sucks that it enters tapped, but it's a free activation. If you could proliferate the counters somehow, it can even give multiple creatures counters. Did you see anything f...

Re: Style Biter's Breakfast - Volrath, the Shapestealer

This decklist looks real cool. I also have fond memories of Nacatl War-Pride , so seeing a deck that revolves around it is nice. A few suggestions: - I kinda feel like Spike Feeder should be Spike Weaver . Weaver is such a good card. It can stall out while you build up your board, or can even focus ...

Re: Nikya: CreatureBall

I'm not a competative player, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I definitely think you should lower your curve and trim your wincons a bit. Goblin Dymano is precisely what your deck wants, but it's almost double the cost of Cinder Elemental . Even then I think you overlooked some of the better...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

Another good thing about Ursapine , which you didn't point out in your post, is it's ability to target any creature, not just your own. This makes it a pretty funny political toy. You can potentially deal damage during opponents turns if you buff an unblocked dude. You could even make blockers bigge...

Re: Nexus Online Playgroup Thread!

I had a really good time too, and I'm already looking forward to the next time :)
@bobthefunny I wouldn't say I stole that game. It was earned and Squee paid with his life serveral times to bring back that elk :) If I havn't won that turn, you guys would have finished me off.

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

With Myth Unbound you also get to draw a card once Nissa transforms, and again if she dies. Sure, sometimes it's a do nothing card, but sometimes it will also give you plenty of value. But I agree, if I should cut a card, this might be the one to go first. I have no opponion about Dark Depths - to m...

Re: Nexus Online Playgroup Thread!

@bobthefunny it was nice seeing some of your action, though I didn't commit wholeheartedly. But next time I want to join the fun! :) Maybe more will join the discord-server so we could set up multiple games.

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

I'm very reluctant to play anything that could give my opponents such a huge opportunity for card advantage as Glademuse would give. Even though I play a bunch of instants, and occasionnaly have Vedalken Orrery , I believe there would always be a deck that play way more instantspeed stuff (hi blue),...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

So toc, did Ikoria/C20 give you anything? Generally I havn't been all that excited for the set. Mutate and evergreen-counters seems hella clunky. But for Nissa, there's one card that sparks my joy - welcome Nesting Grounds ! This will let me move more counters around, for which i only had Power Cond...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

All is Dust is great. I never have a large boardpressence, and they mostly consist of artifacts anyway, so I don't suffer much from it. It also deals with problematic enchantments. Played two games last night on cockatrice. The one was terrible (never getting any lands), but the other was a great S...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

I'm so glad that you found this post! Thank you for all of the advice over the years while I lurked on MTGSalvation. This is the first time I've posted a deck since the days of EssentialMagic in like 2005. I typically keep 15 Commander decks at a time. My first deck was Ashling the Pilgrim , and I ...

Re: Squee, Goblin Nabob Burn

Glad you posted your list. So nice to hear someone else enjoys Squee. It's without a doubt my favourite deck (and I have a fair share to choose from).

I'm not sure about etiquette, but if you would be okay with it, lets move the discussing to my thread :)

Re: Squee, Goblin Nabob Burn

Wow! So nice to see someone else playing good ol' Squee. I thought I was the only one (think d0su retired from MtG :( ). I still manage my deck, but it's a long time since I've played with it, so I havn't tried Underworld Breach yet, but I imagine it does all kind of good things for this deck. Addin...

Great idea, @bobthefunny.

I play on Cockatrice, at GMT +2.

I have decks for most playstyles, though I dislike cEDH. Hit me up, username is the same as here.

Re: What are your favourite mono-white and mono-blue generals?

White is definitely the most un-interesting mono-color IMO. The better ones leans towards combo (Teshar and New-Heliod), but I've built a control deck with 8,5 Tails which is pretty janky, but it can get pretty oppressive. It's MVP's are Humility and Sacred Mesa . In blue I have Tetsuko Umezawa, Fug...

Obviously you need Bear Umbra.

You could also ramp via enchantments. Arbor Elf can be pretty good here.

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

Card Slinger J - If you loads of mana and want to trample people over, Ursapine might be a good card for you. It's also very political, since it can target your opponents stuff too. How has Road of Return been working out? Versatility on cards is always a good thing, but don't think I have ever con...

Re: What's your most unusual commander and/or deck?

Not that I would call it unusual, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone else play Squee, Goblin Nabob as their commander. It's a suicide-burn deck, that frequently wins games. Doubling on mana and looting as much as able. Squee goes to the grave all the time and turns looting into raw value. It's ...
