Re: Looking for a new commander
Speaking of land-based commanders.... most wacky and fun commander I ever saw for lands was actually Riku of Two Reflections. Clone landfall payoffs, double ramp spells, temur colors because why not. Did some funny things with stuff like boundless realms and cloning rampaging baloths. Surprisingly p...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The Panoramas
don't play them I find them very slow It's 2 mana to get a basic, I would rather just play evolving expanse which costs '1' mana. The colorless mana is not doing me any favours most of the time. Maybe you play it over terramorphic wilds if you have colorless costs in your deck. Can we all just take...

Re: What is going in your decks from C20 and Ikoria?
Only immediate thing I know is my Yarok, the Desecrated list will be getting Tidal Barracuda, Fiend Artisan, and the new Vivien (it's got a pod subtheme. I'll be building Kalamax for sure (a sweet, unique, non-infinite brew I've been thinking up). I might be adapting Karlov to include Lurrus as a co...

Where can I order C20 decks?
I was looking online today to order a C20 set of 5, but everywhere seems to be sold out. Is this because they have already been bought out of preorder stock or because they have not yet been made available? When should I order this (when will it be in stock) and where can I get it for a reasonable p...

Re: Xyris, the Writhing Storm (Let's brew!)
So I am pretty sure I am going to brew up a combat trick focused Xyris, and I want to use the snakes primarily to fuel tapping for firebreathing spells and making mana as a subtheme. Here's my current card list for that: earthcraft Xenagos, the Reveler cryptolith rite phyrexian altar battle hymn I'...

Re: Your favourite "big dumb fatties" generals
I'll second all the Maelstrom Wanderer opinions. One of my favorite decks for a long while. Just a lot of big temur creatures, ramp, and Sunbird's invocation, and life is good!

Re: [Budget] Commander: Edric vs Grenzo, Dungeon Warden vs Meren vs Greven vs Selvala, Explorer Returned
I would absolutely recommend Grenzo. Edric is pretty fun, though it can get extremely linear sometimes. Meren is pretty fun, but it has trouble winning, in my personal experience, without a couple more expensive pieces. Selvala, can't really say much about. I've played her a couple of times, and I p...

Re: Unusual tribal decks
The only truly strange tribal deck I have ever made is probably Atogs, led by the one and only Atogatog . Very loose deck design, so as to include all of the things that the various atogs needed to get bigger, and the big boi goes stomp. Surprisingly fun, though not particularly good. This one is a ...

This is actually my current deckbuilding project and MAN is it fun. Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa and Silas Renn, Seeker Adept . This idea originally started as me deciding whether I wanted to build Sidar/Ravos or Sidar/Tymna, the argument being repetitive value on an anthem effect, or card advantage in t...

Re: [C20] deck names
It feels like a lot of people are thinking Timeless Wisdom will be Jeskai if it's 3 color. Anyone want to explain their reasoning? Seems like it could very easily be Esper. I mean, we just got a bunch of Jeskai commanders from the last product, soooo... not sure if they'll repeat so closely.

Re: [C20] deck names
My bet is: Ruthless Regiment: Boros Arcane Maelstrom: Grixis or Temur, probably temur Symbiotic Swarm: Abzan Timeless Wisdom: Esper or Azorius, leaning towards Esper Enhanced Evolution: Either straight simic or maybe sultai is all I can see unless they dip into 4 color, in which case obviously Atrax...

Re: [Official] "What Pioneer Deck Should I Play?" Thread
I'm looking to get in to pioneer. Looking at some sort of tempo/aggro, GP level, low budget (200-300 dollars). I love playing any color, but not esper. Cards I already own seems hard to quantify for this because I'm not sure which cards would be relevant. Basically I just need to know any viable tem...

Not going to enjoy playing against the local Omnath, Locus of Mana deck after this. I mean I already don't, but this will make it so much worse.

Re: The 'restricted' banlist
I feel as though having banned cards in your deck for life is interesting, but if your banking on drawing them to have an effect, regardless of power, 10 life seems like too much, only 3 max and it cripples you greatly. I might try it with 8 life each, though

Felidar guardian i understand, but i'm not that up to date with the pioneer meta, what are leyline and oath relevant in that they need to ban them? Mono-green devotion? What's up with that?

Re: Newbie rules mistakes you did when you were new to mtg?
Oh man. Some of these are pretty good :D. When me and my friends first started out, we had a LOT of misconceptions, so I'll just name the major ones. You can play as many basic lands as you want each turn, but only one nonbasic land (in addition to any basics) You draw at the end of your turn Tokens...

Largest Infinite Combo
What is the largest amount of cards you can use to go infinite? Producing infinite of any resource, infinite damage, up to you. As long as it is an action repeatable an indefinite amount of times, it counts. Use as many unique cards as you can. Assume it is singleton, so no duplicates. Every card in...

Stems off of a thing where we just ranked all the 3 color combinations from best to worst. Number one was sultai, of course. I put then esper and grixis, and he put bant then esper, so we're discussing.

Esper vs Bant
Discussion with some friends, looking for outside opinions. Overall, in EDH, would you consider Bant or Esper to be the better 3-color combination? Not deciding based on available commanders, only on pool outside of command zone. All evidence and opinions are welcome.
