Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Your argument was that four mana was a lot for a removal spell stapled to a land. Otawara is a four mana removal spell stapled to a land and is a near staple. I 100% concede that Fell Mire isn't on the same level as Otawara, but if your only arguments boil down to "it isn't as good as other ca...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Otawara hits broad spectrum and has cost reduction and can be loamed. And no life loss. And blue. It's as close to infinity better than this thing as possible.

This deck would play four or five copies of phyrexian altar if it could so I think the cut is probably something else :D

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Another note on Sowing Mycospawn is that the land enters Untapped, which has me looking harder at this card despite the cast trigger. Nabbing a Phyrexian Tower or other high-value land and getting immediate access is good and the creature sticks around to block and stuff. I foresee myself getting a...

Re: SCD: Rhystic Study
For what it's worth, I've had the most success against Rhystic Study by utilizing table talk to archenemy them and act as a friendly reminder to pay your taxes, as well as beginning to play very conservatively. Which is exactly what I recommend and my same experience. I think most of the disagreeme...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
It's not Boseiju, Who Endures good, but I would play it over Agadeem, the Undercrypt , Cabal Pit , Ifnir Deadlands , Shizo, Death's Storehouse , Spymaster's Vault , Takenuma, Abandoned Mire , The Black Gate , Tomb of Urami , and Urborg in the majority of decks over a basic Swamp. The only trivially...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Having a hard time imagining most black decks not running Fell the Profane in most scenarios. I can't be alone in thinking that these are completely insane, particularly in EDH. MDFCs shouldn't be a no-brainer over a basic land. I am upset. I think the percentage of the time you'd rather that was a...

Yeah. There isn't "correct." But my point is that it's probably less often correct to defect than you think for reasons :D

I love all the transformers for how just wonky and fidgety they are. Most of them are just bad in really weird ways. Except slicer.

Re: [SCD] Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary
Remains an embarrassment that this card is on the banlist when we're getting new one card combo commanders every set. :D free my boy.
The price you pay for forest only manabase also goes up every single set it feels like. New mdfcs and high powered lands monthly.

Re: SCD: Rhystic Study
Maybe it's a semantic quibble over "reasonable." The problem as you present it here - that it's difficult to determine if a specific in-game action increases or decreases your chances of winning - applies to virtually all forms of interaction and card draw, though. It's true, moreso than ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Spymaster's Vault is absurd. A land that has the reminder text "draw X" will in no way ever be abused, no sir. Yea I think people are sleeping on this card. The more I noodle on it the more I think it is off the chain good. It's...not just your creatures. It's less good with wraths unless...

Re: SCD: Rhystic Study
capitacommunist I was listing the negatives so of course it seems one sided :D I disagree that you only should evaluate the typical scenario. Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
So I have some issues with the necrobloom's power level but man I do love seeing a good lands legend that isn't blue. The deckbuilding is so different. I also love how necrobloom's abilities synergize so strongly with Tranquil Thicket et. al. which lets you really punish blue decks who want to inter...

Re: SCD: Rhystic Study
I'm not sure why you think a "true dilemma" requires any of that. You can still act in self-interest without having a firm grasp on the outcomes. Faulty input doesn't change motivation. The concept of a prisoner's dilemma requires those things at least, er, classically. It can be a lower ...

Re: SCD: Rhystic Study
The whole point is that it's thought of as a prisoners dilemma but it isn't really. In a true dilemma you have a reasonable idea of the outcome and it doesn't get progressively worse when each person defects. And it doesn't necessarily get better for you to defect. another important difference is yo...

The floor of Skullclamp is you have an artifact and no creatures, or no creatures with low enough toughness to die on equip and no sac outlet. The floor of Splendid Reclamation is you have no lands in your yard and are holding a 4-mana sorcery. The floor of Genesis Wave is you don't have a ton of m...

yea, songs is dumb in most versions of this deck. Cabal Ritual is almost surely correct in most shells I think.
