An Esper Reanimator? That is interesting.
Well, white has a history of reanimator cards, and you really just need discard outlets and/or mill to make reanimator work. Blue provides one thing, white and black provide the other.
Best card to use in a reanimator deck to get cards into your graveyard is, and always has been, black: Buried Alive, that said. Blue does provide a lot of mill cards, although black does have some to. No, blue is more to ensure you can manipulate the top of your library so that you always get your reanimation spells in hand and your creatures into the graveyard.
