Re: Aminatou, the Fateshifter - The 8-year-old Planeswalker

Blinking for theft and 5 land untap is pretty sweet - sort of a mana doubler mode for Aminatou, the Fateshifter.

Re: Who wants to talk about spite scooping?

I really enjoy playing around the rager at my table. I often maneuver it so she and I are the last ones standing if I possibly can.

Re: Leori, Sparktouched Hunter - I'm less popular than freaking Omarthis? Wtf?

I have a Carth the Lion deck - only seems fitting to round it out with the other half of the planeswalkers :D

Are you mostly angling for commander asap, play any walker after to profit?

Or is it moreso wait for the coast to be clear?

What are you playing as your top end on brawl? If you have a list (or screenshot) I'd be very interested in it.

Re: Smeagol, Helping Himself to Your Precious Lands

Trying to build this deck on Arena for historic brawl — I'm really torn between the aristocrats style and going straight into tempt cards. Preliminary games have shown that it's more difficult to get a self sac online by the turn 3 Sméagol. I'm wondering if it might be better to try to enable a turn...

Re: Tivit's Bed and Breakfast

Good Lord. I updated my blink list, taking out several of the single target blinks for the clone package, Panharmonicon , and went harder on the Second Sunrise effects. Some highlights from the game — Panharmonicon into Tivit, Seller of Secrets into Spark Double on the same turn, leaving up 6 treasu...

What about Rowan Kenrith and Will Kenrith? They search each other up to keep you up on gas, and Will is very good at protecting yourself.

Re: Leori, Sparktouched Hunter - I'm less popular than freaking Omarthis? Wtf?

Yes, it works for all planeswalkers in class - so it definitely reads to me like a card that wants to go Chandra, Teferi, or Jace tribal. Sure, it's great to double one thing - but doubling all the things is even better. Ichormoon Gauntlet , therefore, is bananas. Picture a case where you have 3 wal...

Re: Evelyn - Vampire Mill?

If you do decide to look into the Unwinding Clock plan, there are a couple token producers I might consider— Maskwood Nexus , which would have the side perk of allowing you to cast your opponents spells and trigger Evelyn, the Covetous . Glass-Cast Heart , to generate vampire dorks and get some filt...

Re: Jaheira, Clan Crafter - My Treasures are Clues

Got in the first game in a long time with this deck. If Jaheira, Friend of the Forest doesn't die, games don't last very long. I went turn 2 Noble's Purse Turn 3 Oko, Thief of Crowns Turn 4 Jaheira, Friend of the Forest , Killer Service , Wavesifter evoked, make a rhino. Turn 5 Bootleggers' Stash Tu...

Re: Queen Marchesa - Games We Play

I'm willing to look past legality for contraptions - I think it's clear that if the set were printed after unfinity instead of prior, they would be. My group will be okay with it give a rule zero conversation.

That said, the enablers are GARBAGE.

Re: Queen Marchesa - Games We Play

What an awesome thing to do for someone else's deck. Thank you in a big way! I've been poking around with it, goldfishing on Moxfield - my favorite interaction thus far from the stickers is Forth Eorlingas! making a plethora of stickers, and making one of them into a giant Eldrazi size threat. Very ...

Re: Queen Marchesa - Games We Play

I… didn't know Fighter Class existed. What a beating!

I like a lot of these suggestions and will look to implement them for sure. Reconnaissance is such a neat design. I feel like if they stapled it to a commander it would be some 5 cost monstrosity in Naya.

Queen Marchesa - Games We Play

Throwing up some ideas here from my thread on the general forum. The idea in general is to play some of the games within the game of magic that deliberately hit dopamine spikes / mental scratchings of an itch. We've got dungeons, the monarchy, flip cards, battles, superfriends, land combos, the ring...

Re: Mini games - the best commander?

You are spot on in your assessment - I want all of those elements that enter from outside the game. Sunforger package is definitely happening. I played this in 60 card casual, but never commander somehow. I realize that I cannot do every everything in one deck, but I also like the idea of Otharri, S...

Re: Mini games - the best commander?

I'm game for some stickers, attractions, and perhaps even contraptions. I don't know how the mechanics work though. Do you pre-assemble the attractions / stickers that are in your pool, and then choose at random among those when you get a sticker or open an attraction?

Re: Mini games - the best commander?

On the note of collecting all three: Assembling Kaldra was a big bucket list item that I eventually ticked off the list. Don't love that they made the easy button of Kaldra Compleat :p I'm really liking the concept of a heavy combat Queen Marchesa deck that is really good at defending walkers, the m...

Re: Mini games - the best commander?

The quests and flips are good ones — I have all the possible flip lands in a lands deck, even just connecting with a Dowsing Dagger // Lost Vale scratches the itch. I badly want to flip Azor's Gateway // Sanctum of the Sun and go off. Alternate win conditions have never been my thing. I like mill wh...

Mini games - the best commander?

One of my favorite elements of magic is the game within the game that you can create with engines and synergies. It's a style of play that I've identified in a few brewers on the forums here - and I believe may even be inherent to the type of person who likes to be on magic forums in the first place...

Re: Eowyn's Rohirrim and Friends

Rick, Steadfast Leader is very strong in a humans deck.

Not a human, but Terror of the Peaks and Purphoros, God of the Forge could be strong considerations.

You could probably go hard on hatebears and still get what you're needing out of the commander.

Re: Smeagol, Helping Himself to Your Precious Lands

How is the feeling when you knock someone out after having built your mana up withe their resources?

That's always been a concern of mine with decks that rely on theft / playing other people's spells.

Re: Armies of The Dark Lord

Call of the Ring — would you be able to align it such that you wound up with 5 cards? Also, I know that I mentioned it in the other thread, but Ion Storm could do work here. The threat of activation is just so strong - any X/2 or X/4, that's not coming at me, right? I don't know if Gleaming Oversee...
