Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
While I love Loam, I don't really miss it in the games I've played after cutting it. So it might be a fine cut. I also think you could cut some of your beaters, Multani seems like the weaker one. I switched him for Kamahl, and he's way better imo. You also have the goat, so I think you'll do fine wi...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
So, just a tiny game report, again to speak well of Nyxbloom. Played a 1v1, I started well by ramping, but I just drew into more lands and more ramp, so I went out of gas pretty quickly. My opponents board was beginning to get loaded with some pretty big guys, but I stalled a bit with Spike Weaver a...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
It's cool that we have such diversity among our mono green control lists! :) I get your point about Geae's Touch - thats pretty cool, but yeah, can see it being pretty mana intensive. Just goldfished a game with Nyxbloom Ancient . Turn 8, I flashed in the ancient using Emergence Zone . Had Nykthos, ...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
Lots of great discussing! Why do you guys value the "put land into play" of Gaea's Touch so much? Isn't it just a pseudo extra land drop anyways? You still need a basic forest (I only run 23) in your hand. What am I missing? On Castle Garenbrig, would properly never play it. The comparison...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
Yeah, too me Elderscale Wurm doesn't do enough, since it's' very fragile to loss of life when you are down to 7. I don't attack much, either because I don't have the relevent critters or I have Chasm down. To me Ilysian dude does way more then Gaea's Touch . It's not really the struggle with nonbasi...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
I actually replaced Emperion with Elderscale. I think he just does a better job then the wurm, and I don't really think I need a second option. I havn't typed up my build here on nexus, but I always have an up to date build on my deckbox: https://deckbox.org/sets/1053352

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
Played a few games with the new changes. Overall I like the it. Only think I had Ilysian down once, but he made like 5-6 lands into forest that all tapped for 2, which got dumped down a Squallmonger . Definitely not bad. The extra land per turn is gravy. Had a couple of games that both saw Vernal Bl...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
You beat me to it. I was wanting to post my thoughts about the new set, since I'm actually making a quite devestating change. Dryad of the Ilysian Grove was the factor. Well, we don't need the fixing, but Vernal Bloom is a thing I'm already playing, even though I have a high non-basic count. I do al...

Re: Theros: Beyond Death Pauper Spoiler Discussion
So, I might add Hero of the Games to my cube, though there might not be enough spells to support it. But I like him. A resonable body for the cost and a cool effect. Black got some interesting stuff too. I kinda like Underworld Charger , but I might just be too biased about Escape. The best would pr...

Unexpectedly Absent belongs to every mono white control deck. Such a versetile card!

Theros: Beyond Death Pauper Spoiler Discussion
So far I'm seeing Eidolon of Philosophy that might be good. 1/2 for isn't all that bad, but 7 mana to draw 3 might be too much.
Underworld Rage-Hound also looks interesting. Escape looks decent, giving some value. It might be good in a / sacrifice shell.

This or that thread
Hi, so in making my pauper cube, I cam across a question I didn't have an answer for and hoped someone might do. I run a flicker theme and have Man-o'-war and Aether Adept in, but would Frost Lynx and friends be better? It taps down the creature, so I won't be able to block the next turn either. The...

Re: Kykar, Wind's Fury - Jeskai Tokens
Have you thought about Coastal Piracy and Bident of Thassa? Seems good with lots of tokens.
OCPunisher, the lifegain you missed, would Jeskai Charm fit the bill? Works both as a source for life and an anthem, plus it's fetchable via Sunforger.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Summer Bloom
Just had a silly (and rather short) game with my newly brewed Golos, Tireless Pilgrim lands matter deck. My hand was 4 lands, Sol Ring, Ad Nauseum and Summer Bloom . I draw a land (the deck have 50, so it wasn't unlikely. Play land, Sol Ring. Next turn was another land. Tap Sol Ring and land, play S...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
I guess Springbloom does have som fine interaction with Titania. In a similar vein there's also Harrow.
I really love to ramp turn 1 with Green Sun's Zenith and Dryad Arbor. Given, Arbor is fragile and do have summoning sickness, but GSZ is never a dead card.

Late to the show, but I think the adventure creatures have some potential. Think I'll be adding Faerie Guidemother to my list.

Nothing that excites me much, but I do like the Omens. They are kinda cute for commons.

Oh, and if you dare go lower on basics, cycle-lands are totally great with Life from the Loam.
Also, about basics, Vernal Bloom.

Re: [Titania, PoA] Dead of Winter
From what I've heard, Concordant Crossroads works wonders with Titania. It's a pretty great way to make use of the beasts you create with Natural Balance or even if Zorb at sorcery speed. A great new card for you to consider, might be Return of the Wildspeaker . Both modes being relevant for you. Ev...

Yup, Skyshroud Claim is one of the best ramp spells there is. Talking magic-wonder-land here, but it happens that you sit on 6 lands on turn 3 with Claim, thats just gross.

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
I'm with Rumpy5897 on the land-ramp issue, and I think we did dicuss it back @ salvation once. The low cmc ramp gets you to where you can start casting Nissa, so you don't miss your next landdrop. I don't play Steve either, but most of the other 2cmc ramp spells. Also, I'd don't t...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
I just decided to cut Abundance the other day. It was mostly there to interact with Sylvan Library, but I never think it did, so most of the time it's just a dead card. And like you say, it slows down the game, and also it can be a bummer to reveal the cards...

Re: Tatyova, Benthic Druid: We bounce a lot.
Skyshroud Ranger > Llanowar Scout . I think your deck would fuction better if you switched to lower cmc ramp cards, like Nature's Lore and Rampant Growth . Though I understand your sentiment about a low landbase, I still think 33 might be too low. I play Tatyova as a P(auper)DH, so only commons, an...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
Good to see you roger! Hope you've been keeping well :) Once and Future is decent. I don't run Regrowth , but spell based recursion is Seasons Past and Nostalgic Dreams . I think it competes with Dreams, but Seasons is just significantly better. It may well be worth a try though, Dreams is one of t...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
No love for Once and Future ? I actually think this card is pretty bonkers. Instant speed Regrowth for two targets. I already run a lot of recursion, so I think Regrowth is getting cutted. I not as hyped for the castle. I mean, it takes 5 mana to make 6 mana that even have a restriction. If I played...
