Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

And @aslidsiksoraksi, let me know if you start brewing some mono green lands abomination, then I want to join in :)

Happy new year, y'll!

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

aslidsiksoraksi haha, I think I have to update my profile soon :) I have 25 sources that tap for [sym=g]. Never think I've been in trouble with that amount. I have a soft spot for Freyalise's Winds , but I've only found room for it in my janky saproling deck, that tries to lock the game down while ...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

Good to see you aslidsiksoraksi ! Remember you with fondness :) I havn't really played much with my mono-green control lately, but I still update once in a while. It's certainly less creature oriented then Toc's, but I think more creatures have been added over the years. You are welcome to see my li...

It's properly something along the lines of Forecast, where you exile the card instead

Re: Pauper Commander

Indeed, you have to play blue, if you want the strongest deck. Zada is pretty close up there, though. But PDH is mostly a more "true" casual format then EDH and I think most people playing PDH don't mind cluttered boardstates. You do also play with lower life of 30 and commanderdamage is 1...

Re: Pauper Commander

PDH is a thing, and been so for a pretty long time actually. There isn't any sanctioned rules, but the general consensus is to use an uncommon creature (don't have to be legendary) as your commander. It's a really fun format, which is much more approachable then regular EDH, and while there is talk ...

You could switch to snow-lands and play Arcum's Astrolabe instead.

Re: Budget Builds and the Fun That Comes With Them

PDH is really a great format, and still relatively unexplored. It's mostly straight up casual, but you can actaully build some really nasty combo-decks that go off at turn 5-ish.

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

d0su!!! Welcome back. I sadly don't play much either these days, but I'm still enjoying to brew and tune decks. So spoilers are always fun to me. I did buy a Fiery Emancipation (that card is everything I want on a piece of cardboard), but havn't been sold on Double Vision . Only once a turn kinda ki...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!

I used to play Lifegift for the longest time, but it never actually did much. Surely the card is best being played in the first couple of rounds, before everyone starts ramping, and when that happens, you gain absurd amounts of life, and then you'll become archenemy. People will usually hit the play...

Re: Greven, Predator Captain - No Pain No Gain

Obviously the Undying Evil and Supernatural Stamina are better than Boon of Erebos as Boon doesn't save you from Damnation , Wrath of God , Toxic Deluge type effects. Technically Supernatural Stamina is the best as it avoids the -1/-1 counter of Undying Evil and my guess is coming into play tapped ...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

Nice! Congrats on that. Maybe it's time that you add All Is Dust :) I havn't tried the mentioned cards. Hour of Devastation seems like the best of the two. The full spoiler for M21 is now up, and I'm definitely going to add Fiery Emancipation . I'm also considering Brash Taunter , but I'm debating i...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

Welcome Meow! Glad to hear about your interest in Squee. Of the listed commander, I think they will all have pretty different playstyles. I think ISPathfinder have a cool build with New-Squee that all about storming out. Torbran works great with bleeder-effects, but will put a heavy target on your f...

Re: Banlist update: 7 cards banned for offensive imagery/names

Did I?

I didn't really consider the artists, but what was being depictured. And I didn't compare racism and vegans. It was a hyperbole statement about who gets to choose what is being banned. What is offensive to some, might not be for others and vice versa.

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

Holy moly Fiery Emancipation ! This is a card I can get behind. I've also had an eye on Double Vision , but I'm not too sure about it. Think it's worth testing though. Chandra's Incinerator I don't really care for much. That it doesn't hit players is a big minus imo. I don't play that many creatures...

Re: Banlist update: 7 cards banned for offensive imagery/names

Why can't there be dumb, racist characters in a fantasy game, when real life already have them? Because people who have to deal with 'dumb, racist characters' in real life shouldn't have to put up with the same in their escapism. Saying that M:tG is built on race war as a concept is really, really,...

Re: Banlist update: 7 cards banned for offensive imagery/names

Seriously though, do our fantasy characters now have to be political correct? That would ruin the whole game. This game is kinda build on racewar. They might aswell just close down WotC... Can you elaborate on the bolded? I've never had this impression and this is the first time I've seen this take...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

Good to hear. I'm very interested in how Shenanigans preformed? It havn't come up in any of the games since I've added it. I like that fills the grave, but I'm a bit concerned that dregde for one isn't doing much on it's own. But still, it can just sit in the grave 'till you need to use it. Right no...

Re: Best monored commanders

I'll humbly recommend looking at my Squee, Goblin Nabob build here.
It's definitely not the most powerfull, but it takes away a fair share of the wins and can b very explosive.

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

I think you'll be overall happy with those changes. I have a standart of 36 lands, also in this build, and even though I also run Maze of Ith , it's very rare that I end up mana-screwed. Committing a few cardslots to artifact based ramp, will help on this. Also Hart and Sphere is good value, and it'...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

I don't think Gemstone Caverns is worth the effort IMHO. Like, take my last game. I did next to nothing the whole game. I had kept a hand of Bonus Round , Recoup and Increasing Vengeance . I draw into Thawing Glaciers , which gives me a steady flow of mana. Then I draw into Tormenting Voice , which ...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob

Oh man, that sounds like a horrible game. Better luck next time! I can understand cutting Runehorn Hellkite . There seems to be a lot of hopes to jump through, it has to go to the grave and even then 6 mana for a wheel is a tad much. Only good thing is, that it can be used instant-speed. I havn't pl...
