Re: Your most hated cards
As soon as it hit the table, everyone started focusing me until I quit lol. Haven't played it since. I had designed a deck, that I never actually realized, that played all the cards people didn't know they hated. Teferi's Puzzle Box might be ok. But when you're also running Storm Cauldron .... >_< ...

Sticking to Bant colors, you can use Indestructibility with help.

Re: Tetsuo, Imperial Champion [Let's Brew!]
Just think of it as era. Being overweight was pretty rare in premodern times, almost always seen as a sign of status.
Darksteel Plate protects Tetsuo and itself, but it doesn't boost his power.
Umezawa's Jitte would also be useful here.
You can also find equipment that gives him +1/+1 counters.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The Great Aurora
This would be great in a landfall deck, if all my landfall permanents didn't just disappear.
Mostly I use it and similar chaos cards for reality warping in flavor-driven decks.

Re: Your most hated cards
Let's be honest here: If you have all nonbasic lands, you're just doing it to yourself.
While I'll rail against Primal Order's color pie issues (and literally any damage to the face in green), stop hitting yourself.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Krond the Dawn-Clad
I wanna see more things like this without generic costs. Screw your color splashes, either commit to your Niv-Mizzet, Parun or die to your lame fixing. Magic needs more prohibitive mana costs! Fair to say. Though I must say, I have played Deus of Calamity and friends in three- and four-color decks ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Repercussion
I used to use this in a Pestilence deck. I can confirm how ridiculous it is.
Use Caltrops, Lightmine Field, Circle of Flame. Then force them to attack.

Kind of slow, no? I'm sure it has a Stax use, but I'm reminded of the expression "Never provoke a Wellwisher."

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Yedora, Grave Gardener
Ok, I'll bite: what's the broken thing you can do with it? Dragonlover I'm assuming something involving Sacred Ground but that requires the opponent to be dumb enough to cast geddo into it. There's a number of infinite combos involving Life and Limb effects to loop Yedora's recursion effect infinit...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Phyrexian Delver
Delver's highly playable. It's just that we have so much better now. And I always preferred classic Reanimate even back then.

Re: Artifact for anti combo aristocrats?
If it's tokens, Blood Artist or Blood Seeker is what you're looking for. Or Suture Priest in white.
Also in white, there's Rest in Peace. No death triggers, no graveyard. Go directly to exile. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Shape Anew
Another card for it is Enlightened Tutor. Or Vampiric Tutor.
You can also sac things like sadbot and wellsprings. Or just a myr token or something generic like that.
But yeah, polymorph effects get boring quickly.

Re: [Resource] Niche and/or Budget Cards
While this is more than one card, they're connected. Story Circle , Rune of Protection: Artifacts , Rune of Protection: White , Rune of Protection: Blue , Rune of Protection: Black , Rune of Protection: Red , and Rune of Protection: White all have value against most decks. Story Circle lets you pick...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Imp's Mischief
Can be useful in some situations. Generally not as good as being able to grant shroud or hexproof, but I have stolen an Eldrazi Conscription that was scheduled for Uril, the Miststalker and insteasd going to my Vampire Nighthawk and not even cared that I paid 8 life. Since, you know, 17/17 flampler ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Angelic Guardian
I mean, this has value in a token deck, just because mass indestructible: You can alpha strike, and then wrath. And (outside of creatures with wither or infect) nothing can hurt your creatures. But she is kinda niche.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Slimefoot, the Stowaway
It has one interesting application. That says "damage" not "loses life". Fun times with infect?
You can also use lifelink or Snake Umbra to benefit from the fact that it does damage.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Tithe
I've always thought this was overrated, but I haven't owned one since 2012 either. The art is nice though, like most of mirage block. It's okay. Land tax as an instant, not as much synergy with things like Scroll Rack but sometimes you just want lands. The plus side is that it grabs any plains. Obv...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Thran Temporal Gateway
Orrery has a few Stax uses, mostly breaking the symmetry of Rule of Law . This? Not so useful. It still breaks the symmetry of Rule of Law and synergizes with Seedborn Muse , but mostly I might see this in an artifact deck. Which is pretty much how most of use use "historic matters" cards ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Camouflage
I mean, it's a mess as a card. Even the Oracle text confuses me, though that may just be sun stroke from my A/C not working.
@Dunharrow Counterspell exists. So do X spells. In fact, those are the signature abilities of the two big "spell" colors. And they both stink with this.
