Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I feel that the easiest way to prevent people from abusing the evoke costs of the elementals is an errata of evoke to have to sac them as they etb rather then when they etb. That way you can't flicker them/use undying effects It's super hard to compensate people for having their decks banned logisti...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
Yorion, Sky Nomad being banned wasn't what I was expecting and probably just isn't enough. I feel Omnath and/or W6 being banned would have been better. Omnath was a bigger payoff and W6 enabled the deck to be efficient. Maybe I just really hate being able to go Omnath on t5, play a fetch and sac t ...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I'm hoping a W6 or Omnath ban. I would even take an errata on evoke so you can't blink the elementals

Re: Ranting about a salty concession
yeah it bothers me when people slat concede like that. I mean I get if people aren't having fun because of how far behind they are, but I hate when people get ultra salty about losing when nothing is at stake

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I'd say modern is still by far the most popular tournament format. EDH is still super popular by nature, but modern sees a lot of interest. I guess there aren't a lot of people going to modern RCQs from my area, but people will go to modern FNM in large numbers. We'll also see multiple cars going to...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I think wallet fatigue and the overall cost of the format rising are 2 huge issues I see. I do also hear the powercreep being huge as well, I've heard modern called MH block constructed ecause you're basically forced to play MH cards

I'm pretty bad for watching any kind of show, just have a hard time committing to watching a whole series or I'll just start a series and then go a while without watching the rest/forget what happens

Re: Roleplaying Games (General Discussion)
I think gens 1-2 are my favourite. While I was a kid when gen 1 (thus the series) came out, I didn't play it until after 2, as I didn't have a game boy until after. I enjoy most gens, but don't get the same feelings for any after 3 tbh. Probably because of the nostalgia for the first 3

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I feel that modern events are still getting a lot of players in my area, although modern events have usually gotten a lot of people in Southern Ontario, Canada. While there have usually been complaints about modern as a format, this time I can agree it's not obvious what a solution would be. Overall...

Re: Roleplaying Games (General Discussion)
I enjoy RPGs, but I have a hard time committing to playing them. We had a few month long Pathfinder campaign back in 2014, but then a few buddies got busy and the PPTQ system launched in 2015, which caused me to get really into competitive magic. I still do enjoy RPG type video games, not sure if yo...

Re: Just a quick heads up.
I remember the few times I had to spend a few days without internet, it was pretty rough.. You never really know how much you rely on it until you have to go without it
Hopefully it doesn't take too long

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I'd like to see W6 go but I still don't know if its correct to ban that I played a 42 person RCQ yesterday, finished 17th at 3-3. Beat Esper reanimator, enchantress and creativity. Lost to hammer, jeskai control and burn. Surprised I didn't get a murktide mirror or played against more burn and hamme...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
They have certainly improved legacy though. Problem is modern does not have good enough land kill to stop 4c elemental decks being too good. Free stuff is an issue and always will be, but it is also a safety valve. The elementals are not an issue for me. If any deck finds a way of abusing lots of t...

thanks for the response, Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast are more versatile answers for sure
on the topic of d and t, can I get some advice for that matchup? I struggle understanding how to approach it
