Re: [Deck] Ninjas

[mention]ZephyrScarlet[/mention] : I understand your logic, although I do not completely share it. Please, do test further and let us know your results. I'd argue that even though Ninjutsu is Instant-speed it is in practice a Sorcery as it can only be cast on your turn. [mention]BloodyRabbit[/mentio...

Re: Your top five favourite modern cards

1. Jace, the Mind Sculptor (the legendary Blue Planeswalker) 2. Snapcaster Mage (best Blue Creature) 3. Cryptic Command (most powerful counter spell in Modern) 4. Force of Negation (the closest I'll ever be to FoW in Modern) Always trying to brew anything that can include those cards and in multiple...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

Indeed, 6 discard Spells fells like the correct amount. As you correctly point out it is much more often to have 1 in the opening. Which makes the Thopter all the more powerful to our deck plan imho.

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

Nice to see other Ninja enthusiast. I'll try to answer in order based on my own experience. If I miss anything let me know. Your build is kind of like mine. At least I believe you are trying to achieve the same game plan as me. I however run only 18 lands. I've been wanting to try Changeling Outcast...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

So, this is actually interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dWeonmbLpc I tried the Thopters and thought they would get useless pretty quickly, but actually they speed up the Ninjutsu a lot. It allows me to use my discard Spells and have a Flying attacker ready for a Ninja. I like his deck a l...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

3. Yeah, I have been tempted to use the Miscreants but have been afraid they are dead more often than not. Might give them a try later. 6. Indeed the main attractive to me is the 5/4 body, as I found out the exiling effect was too random and dependent on the opponent and matchup. 8. I see. It is act...

Re: [Deck] Bridgevine / Dredgevine

How often do you feel constrained by the mana base? Probably I am too dumb to live but I find Satyr Wayfinder way too clunky. I cannot really find a moment to cast it.

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

Great! Hopefully you get a chance to play with Mist-Syndicate Naga, too. Some questions/comments: 3. Unexpectedly good as in "not completely dead" or "must be running 4 right now"? 6. I expected I needed at least 20 Lands to use him consistently, yes. How relevant has he been? 7....

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

The flavor is real indeed. I hope I can get to test later today. The Rat package is also flavorful, but in my current build I'm going more for disruption than quick Ninjutsu enablers. By the way, I did try a build with 8-10 1 CMC enablers and while it does allow for disgustingly fast Ninjas, I found...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

The old Ninja primer is very outdated, yes. Guess we will have to wait for more people to show up. I can see the synergy between Changeling Outcast and Smoke Shroud. Does this interaction show up a lot? Also sick interaction with the Swarmayrd, too. In the meantime, yes I will try 2 Shrouds. I hope ...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

I proxy as such myself, yes. Please do try the Naga and let me know your thoughts. It is hard to come by other people's opinions or experiences with it. It has worked great for me, but of course my small corner of the world is but one among many data points. Have you tried the Smoke Shroud yourself?...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

Right, Shinobi has simply felt underwhelming most of the time. Naga has been great. If it manages to connect even once it snowballs pretty quickly, winning the game on its own. I am unsure if it is because people do not know what it does or simply because it is that good. I have considered increasin...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

I posted this over at MTGS, but I am unsure whether here or there will I get more replies, so here it goes. I am planning to test the following: Creatures: 4 Faerie Seer 4 Spellstutter Sprite 4 Ninja of the Deep Hours 4 Ingenious Infiltrator 2 Mist-Syndicate Naga 2 Fallen Shinobi Sorceries 4 Thought...
