Re: Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim: What Is Dead May Never Die
I just realized that Yawgmoth, Thran Physician isn't listed in your deck. This seems like a pretty large omission, considering that Yawgmoth does almost everything this deck would want a sac outlet to do. Isn't Yawgmoth's 1 life cost to sac a major problem? It means you can't use him to execute som...

Re: Elenda, the Dusk Rose: The World Ends With You
Just thought I should point out that your decklist is missing some cards... Instants say (8) vut ony list 6 and you talk about Planeswalkers that are not in the list. I thought I would try this out as a change from my Ayli deck (which used to be Blackjack's Ghost Council) and I find myself constant...

Re: Yarok, the Desecrated - ETB Value, Pod, & Infinite Mana
I built a very similar list and it exploded and I basically became a raid boss at the table for the duration of the game. The ability to ramp was crazy. After a long while of being archenemy and expending most of my resources, I won my maiden game ( Temur Sabertooth + Peregrine Drake and Grey Mercha...

Re: Is it time to cut signets entirely?
I don't think as many will cut Signets as you might think. Up until a certain experience level, players overall tend to see life loss as a downside. I know players who I still haven't been able to convince to run Painlands to help their mana base. Personally? I could see running both. In a three col...

Re: Anti-Spike police / counterspell density
I've found that playing a number of Simic Commanders has been pretty beneficial to maintaining an enjoyable power level, while being Creature-based and vulnerable but not helpless. Ezuri, Claw of Progress is a solid, powerful Commander that is more than fair if you leave out the outliers like Sage o...

Re: What Makes Bad Games?
Off the top of my head 1.) Starkly different mentalities. When you have one person who is focused on winning and who does not take into consideration the overall game experience. This is where most bad games I've been in tend to stem from. While the player may make technically "correct" pl...

Re: Elenda, the Dusk Rose: The World Ends With You
How's the pace of the deck? I love the idea of Orzhov but every time I've tried to play it, it's just so slow I want to claw my eyes out. Now, to be fair, I'm a green wizard primarily and I am spoiled by acceleration. Orzhov is a slower color. I'd say with this deck that I generally have something ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard
Before content creators started to push people towards the idea of cEDH and it was realized as a subculture of it's own, we didn't have this level of divisiveness or heat directed at the RC, and it's getting tiring. There will always be different levels of competitiveness and opinion, but when you g...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
At least you can take solace in knowing it's not really your group but just the average power level of sets has been on a meteoric rise. Guess that doesn't help much though. Welcome aboard all the same. Yeah, I dunno, it's just been the last 6 months or so that people have been busting out some qui...

I haven't seen anyone play Isochron Scepter for anything other than imprinting Dramatic Reversal in years, and never really before Kaladesh when that even became a thing.

Re: Old characters left for legends?
Most of the potentials have already been named here. There's a small few I can think of I'd like to have cards that don't have them yet, and a handful of characters who I'd really like to see new, modern designs for: -Davvol -The Three Numena -The Sengir family redux -Skellum ( Chainer, Dementia Mas...

Re: Elenda, the Dusk Rose: The World Ends With You
Thank you for the kind words, everyone! Now to work on my next Primer :p I intend to post some gameplay videos by next weekend! My point about the lands isn't that they aren't good enough or that they don't have good applications. Also, I don't think your curve is high or that you won't have enough ...

Re: Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim: What Is Dead May Never Die
Hey everyone! I'm still making time to post the M20 review. Until then... I've posted another Primer that I've had in the works for quite a long while! While I still play Ayli on MTGO, last February my Ayli deck morphed into Elenda, the Dusk Rose . You can check that out here - https://www.mtgnexus....

Re: Hello all!
Hey there y'all. Kelzam (formerly known as Xenphire), here! I founded Sally back in 2005 and have been around in some form since then. I mostly hang around the Commander forums these days and help as part of the Commander Primer Committee therein :) Glad to see some familiar faces streaming into Nex...

Re: [official] How long have you been playing?
I started right around Urza's Saga, so it's been about 20 years. My middle school friend gave me this like 300-card pile that he called his deck that was Jund colors and I loved the art and aesthetic and it's all history from there :p

Re: Elenda, the Dusk Rose: The World Ends With You
This primer is beautiful! Very nice. You have a broken link to God-Eternal Oketra and Dusk // Dawn in the decklist. I think you have too many colorless and ETB tapped lands. Personally I wouldn't run Hall of the Bandit Lord, Emergence Zone, Exotic Orchard, Geier Reach Sanitarium, or Westvale Abbey....

Re: Do you ever use green signets?
Generally I use them if the following conditions apply: 1.) 3-Color deck with heavy colored mana costs where I need to ramp fast, and I use green ramp to get my colors 2.) 5-color deck where, again, I use green ramp to get access to all my colors, so I lean heavy into green signets to make sure I ca...

Re: Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim: What Is Dead May Never Die
The formatting is coming along nicely, Kelzam. I've already taken the liberty of adding your Primer to the Directory, and I tingle with anticipation in seeing it in its final state. It's easily one of the most visually appealing Primers on MTGSal, hands down. The new Cavalier cycle seems really rel...

Re: Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim: What Is Dead May Never Die
Hey there everyone :) Apologize for the messy state the Primer is in, at the moment! I'm working on it as I get time! I, too, am not on the Despark train and found it inconsistent in the decks I've tried it in, so far. I also have replaced Fellwar Stone with Talisman of Hierarchy . I'm also not sold...
