Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Nature's Blessing
I remember opening this in my first pack of Alliances. At the time I thought it was OP. (Because, you know, early sets, creatures and cards related to creatures.) Today, I...still have use for it, if I expect an Animar player to be running Blightsteel Colossus . (Yeah, you can actually direct trampl...

Re: [C19] Mire in Misery (maro)
I guess this is blacks foray into enchantment removal. Back it up with plenty of creature removal first and you can make it work. Literally the only problem with black enchantment removal is removing your own enchantments. (You shouldn't be able to get out of your demonic pacts so easily.) But subv...

Re: [C19] Nightmare Unmaking (Salty Commander)
Salty commander. I gotta visit the site sometimes. The first option is clearly superior, as most people have no more than seven cards in hand, but plenty of creature has 1 or greater power. This is the kind of cards I with WotC makes more of. Hellbent/low hand size support. Null Profusion exists. I...

Well, if you have nine mana available, you know what to do. If you have eleven, do it better.

Actually, it's more a, have you ever seen The Producers ? Basically, their two Marvel movies had similar storylines, so they chose Captain Marvel over Marvel Girl. Because X-Men had been at best hit or miss, hell, The Last Stand, Logan, and Apocalypse are all forgettable and the less said about Fox'...

I hate Mirage,* but I like this card. So, you can't go infinite, but you do get entry triggers, and you can get death triggers with work, plus, you know, combat.

Uno! But seriously, I like this idea, and it's been something I've been waiting for: Truly multiplayer cards. Didn't expect one with no 1v1 value whatsoever; even goad cards work as "can't attack next turn".

Re: [C19] Mothership spoilers 8/8 - Chainer, Nightmare Adept, Curse of Fool's Wisdom, & Big Game Hunter reprint
That Curse is going into a deck I want to use against a friends Niv-Mizzet deck, he likes to draw 20+ cards with it to finish of the game. Well, now it will finish off him first. :) It can also be thrown in Nekusar and such, when you don't yet have what you need to win the game, but you can knock o...

the back end on this is a complete miss. 10/10 w/ annihilator 1? then I get it 10/10 golem, construct, statue even when did eldrazi come from a statue that someone carved? are eldrazi and the gargoyles from ghostbusters similar? blegh the more I look at the card its elegance and flavor are not swee...

This could actually be pretty useful in dredge. If you use a Life from the Loam loop, this guy can pay for the cycling.

I just see it as a decent attempt to make combat more relevant. A lot of Commander games run on combos, so making combat more relevant diversifies the meta.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Soul Burn
I remember having one of those way back in the day. Dear god does it suck. If you're just going for huge burn finishers there's a million better options. At least it's technically mono-black. Fireball says hi! And there are so many Fireball variants, why would you ever run this? Also, why would you...

It's not Scooze, but if there's anything that keeps Commander in anything resembling balance, it's hate cards that do something else so you don't feel like you wasted a card.

Also commanders with +1/+1 counters used as a resource/sacrifice themselves.

Basandra, Battle Seraph was actually pretty strong, you mean. I guess it is a bit closer to her. It always drove me nuts that her ability was symmetrical in the combat trick colors. Glad to see that fixed that. I'd be more likely to build Marisi if it were Boros though, Naya is...meh. Ah well. We g...

Re: [C19] Tectonic Hellion (CubeApril)
This is the kind of card you cheat out on turn 2 because you really didn't want to play another commander game. It will go into my land destruction deck though. Land sac is particularly evil because you know you're using it to kill everyone's lands. Normal LD or even MLD at least is justifiable on ...

You mean they ETB tapped and attacking. Because usually forced attack makes me think of Erg Raiders and friends, which would not attack if it could not attack.Raptorchan wrote: ↑4 years agoJust FYI, this deck's commander still can force tokens to attack while populating them.
