Re: [MH3] Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student - Turn 4, draw half your deck

It feels like this deck folds to a resolved Orcish Bowmasters, Notion Thief, etc. Maybe including something like Pongify/Rapid Hybridization/Resculpt could be worthwhile?

Re: Tegwyll - Fae Tribal

I built Alela, Cunning Conqueror as Faerie typal, although my creature count is much lower than yours. Due to the nature of the commander I wanted as much cheap spells/interaction as possible while keeping my creatures as lean/good as possible. I also run into the occasional issue re: life recovery,...

Re: Galadriel's Elven Foresight

Maybe you could remove the Elf synergies and focus on something similar to Simic Flash? A lot of blue's card draw allows you to scry as part of their effects (ex: Glimmer of Genius ) so you would be able to hold up your ample mana for interaction, and if nothing forces your hand you can just go to t...

Lord of the Nazgûl: Inverting Expectations

Around my shop I am known as the quintessential fair player. Most of the decks that I run are value engine-based control decks that thrive in the long game and win with one or two threats once the table has run out of resources. So I decided to stretch my wings and build a different kind of deck. Wh...

Re: [Braintstorming][Help Wanted]Cromat Loam Control

Oh I love that Nassif list. Watching that Pro Tour play out was such a treat. I feel like you have two distinct paths in front of you here. One way would be to just play the best cards regardless of color. This would obviously be easier in terms of finding Loam, etc. The other would be primarily foc...

Re: Mono-White Otharri, Sun's Glory Solos the Table

How concerned are you about running out of cards? I imagine something like War Room will probably live in your mana base, but have you thought about using any of the spell-based draw/regrowth effects in these colors? Showdown of the Skalds for example, or Reconstruct History.

Re: Withered Recollections (Beledros Witherbloom)

I finally managed to get a couple games in with this deck. But first, I made some changes before rolling out to the shop: In: 1 Into the North 1 Grim Tutor 4 Snow-Covered Swamp 4 Snow-Covered Forest 1 Vilis, Broker of Blood Out: 1 Font of Fertility 1 Dig up 4 Forest 4 Swamp 1 Sandwurm Convergence Sn...

I've been tossing around ideas in my brain for this too, so it's cool to see some brainstorming already happening. I haven't looked through the original thread in its entirety as of yet, so forgive me if these have already been discussed: -- Awaken the Woods allows you to fire off a bunch of landfal...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

We have started getting first looks at some of the cards in March of the Machine, courtesy of a panel at PT Philadelphia. I really love the idea of having character team-ups where its one card with a fusion of sorts of different legends and their abilities. Planechase being an active part of the ne...

Re: The Spirit of Caw-Blade (Isperia the Inscrutable)

Nice list! I like the theme of building an edh deck off a 60 card deck. I've been playing Isperia for awhile and it's interesting seeing where our lists overlap even with your theme. A lot of our flying utility is the same. Have you considered something like Duelist's Heritage? It can double trigge...

Re: The Spirit of Caw-Blade (Isperia the Inscrutable)

Finally went to an LGS for the first time in forever to play some EDH. Brand new playgroup, hopefully this one lasts. I made some changes to the deck before going, just to test out how lowering the curve would feel: Adds: 1 Arcane Denial 1 Sword of War and Peace 1 Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker 1 Archo...

The Spirit of Caw-Blade (Isperia the Inscrutable)

There is nothing that appeals to me more in magic than playing Stoneforge Mystic . Caw-Blade era is my favorite time in Magic, and I have shoved Equipment packages in basically every deck I can. My judge promo Swords of X and Y have served me well in Constructed, and I wanted to build an homage to t...

Re: Raffine - Aggro Filter

Not sure if they were mentioned before/didn't make the cut initially, but Ranger of Eos and Ranger-Captain of Eos can help find your more impactful 1-drops as well as help re-establish a board presence post-wrath. Ranger-Captain even acts as interaction itself.

Re: Ragavan - Big Red

Any consideration for Sword of Hearth and Home ? It would accentuate your ramp package while still providing protection from some relevant removal spells, and can help provide additional value out of your ETB creatures. There's also those cases where it can allow Glorybringer to exert itself every t...

I'm so glad you said wall of omens, phoenix. That saves me a pick.
I have cast way more copies of Omens and Resto than is reasonably healthy in Modern, I couldn't pass up nominating my boy haha

Suggestion of the Day: Wall of Omens. If we're running Wall of Blossoms, we gotta run it's cousin too!

Also, echoing pokken's idea of using Thanks as a way to keep track of +1ing suggestions.

Re: Katilda and Innistrad's Hateful Eight (Innistrad-Themed Hatebears)

This feels like a deck that would like a couple more 1-drops and a Ranger of Eos / Ranger-Captain of Eos . Kytheon, Hero of Akros // Gideon, Battle-Forged is deceptively powerful in this kinda shell too, especially since he brings a repeated untap for your commander and/or another mana dork>:) I'd ...

Re: For the Love of Humanity (Katilda)

There are many I could suggest, but even though your entire deck is basically mana dorks thanks to your commander, you are also particularly vulnerable to board wipes. If you don't manage to keep a full grip, then one good wrath effect will slow you down considerably. I would really consider a land...

Katilda and Innistrad's Hateful Eight (Innistrad-Themed Hatebears)

As someone who has been trying to build Human tribal in EDH for a while now, I just had to try out Katilda, Dawnhart Prime . Before Midnight Hunt was released, I had been playing this sort of Innistrad themed deck with Selvala, Explorer Returned at the helm to both churn out Humans and Angels, while...

Re: [Looking for suggestions] Ishai and Esior: Caw Blade

If you're looking for other things to potentially carry swords, Dragonlord Ojutai is a personal favorite of mine. I remember Caw-Blade ran Consecrated Sphinx and Sun Titan as top-end threats. Sun Titan pulls double-duty by recurring equipment too. I also remember Emeria Angel being played as a way t...

Re: Bruna, Light of Alabaster - ENCHANTMENTS ONLY - stax beatdown!

When it comes to ramp, don't forget land-based sources as well. Terrain Generator is great if you run a healthy amount of basics as are Thawing Glaciers and Myriad Landscape . Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx can do it's best budget Serra's Sanctum impression here. A cool thing to note with Treachery is that ...
